To drive and encourage the participation in original research carried out in the CSU. To provide advice and support to other members of the multidisciplinary team with regard to research guidelines, REC registration and approval, project development, implementation, completion and dissemination. Liaison with the multidisciplinary team to promote and oversee the appropriate referral and recruitment of patients to research within the department/unit for which the post holder has a designated responsibility. Ensure clear, accurate records are maintained. Developing data collection, case report forms, and design of database where required, with a clearly trackable system/audit trail and is stored for the appropriate time. To establish and maintain good working relationships and channels of communication with all support services, other departments within the Trust, other relevant hospitals and Trusts, non-commercial bodies and industry sponsors regarding feasibility and implementation aspects of proposed clinical trials. Monitor and plan in advance workload of the department ensuring it is adequately resourced. Clinical Service and Professional Responsibilities To work as part of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the on-going development of the department and CSU research strategy. Develop protocols for research practice and ensure these are reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Also to review other relevant departmental and Trust protocols to ensure they are applied appropriately. To provide on-going advice and information to patients/volunteers with regard to their participation in clinical research in order to facilitate effective informed consent. To assist the clinicians in the assessment of patients/volunteers for eligibility for research and monitoring of their condition throughout their participation. Education and training of various groups, being responsible for ensuring that your direct managed staff receive and engage with the relevant, appropriate clinical skills training and maintain related clinical competencies To perform venepuncture and cannulation when required for research purposes, processing biological samples as per trial protocols. To educate patients with regards to trial medications particularly when medications require home self-administration. To administer trial medications according to trial protocols. To be responsible for maintaining strong relationships and positive communication channels with other key personnel. To be responsible for developing and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness. To co-ordinate educational meetings for both research and non-research staff. 1.1 To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including management of patients in your care. Within the aseptic unit some of your core duties will require you to assist in the Environmental monitoring of the aseptic unit through the use of broth media and recording of temperatures and pressures Assembly of ingredients, worksheet and labels of raw materials Assist in the preparation of chemotherapy/monoclonal antibodies including in process volume checks and visual inspection of final products Cleaning and disinfection of the unit according to standard operating procedures on a daily, weekly, three monthly and annual basis along with other general housekeeping duties to maintain the unit. Ordering and replenishment of stocks There is also a requirement to support the wider pharmacy team within the dispensary with a commitment to late night, weekend and bank holiday working on rota and full training in the use of computer and labelling systems will be provided.

The team covers both minor and major mental health problems providing a truly integrated, multidisciplinary approach to prisoners with mental health needs within the prison setting.

We provide a service with a single point of access, for the specialist assessment and treatment of people with mental health needs. Utilising the skill mix and services, already available within the prison e.g. Day therapy centre. The team provide the service with a skill mix appropriate to the needs of the users of the service. They arrange and co-ordinate the delivery of health and social care for users and their carers. All care plans are evidence-based and needs-led and delivered by appropriately trained and qualified staff.

We also aim to minimize distress and disability caused by mental illness using methods likely to achieve positive results. We will encourage a person to maintain or gain control over their life and the treatment they receive whenever practically possible.

As a senior CPN you will be part of an emergency response system across the prison, hotel 5, and be required to be part of a duty roster completing initial assessments on patients ensuring appropriate allocation or signposting to services.

Act as a positive role model to staff.

Determine nursing care priorities and plans and implement service users care in accordance to best practice and available resources.

Inform Mental Health Team manager when changes occur in circumstances that affect the standards of care.

Maintain effective communication with all disciplines, agencies, carers and service users.

Bromley Mental Health Liaison Team

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Senior Psychiatric Liaison Band 7 Nurses to join our Integrated Mental Health Liaison Team (WAA&OA) at the Princess Royal University Hospital in the Royal Borough of Bromley.

This post is suitable for a Registered RMN with a minimum of 1 year's recent post-registration experience in liaison mental health nursing as a B6 or B7, as well as experience of leadership and supervisory roles. Overall the person must have 3-yrs mental health experience in relevant clinical settings with transferable skills to this role.

The Liaison team is based at the Princess Royal University Hospital in the Royal Borough of Bromley, South East London.

The Liaison team is well established with a staff contingent of a number of experienced B6 nurses and medical staff. Due to the demands of the services, the clinical lead role is being established in the team.

A large proportion of the team’s work is based in the Emergency Department, providing frontline assessments, but the team also provides a service to all the wards and departments of the acute hospital, for patients presenting with a wide range of medical and mental health co-morbidities. The team is a very dynamic one, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The role requires you to triage, screen and conduct rapid assessments and treatment of WAA and OA patients in the Emergency Department. You will possess outstanding clinical skills, including independent assessments, and a comprehensive knowledge of mental illness and brief therapeutic interventions. You will have a thorough understanding of clinical risk and will conduct thorough risk assessments resulting in a safe management plan. You will be competent in the completion and interpretation of mental state examinations and will be able to devise accurate formulations and management plans based on the findings of your assessment. You will be creative and innovative in your approach, and will work collaboratively with patients and their carers in the formulation of care plans. You will be able to effectively liaise with other agencies, in particular your acute trust colleagues. You will be keen to professionally develop and must possess the ability to practice safely and effectively within the relative autonomy that this role offers.

As a member of the Integrated Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) you will:
• Work alongside senior team colleagues to provide clinical leadership to the team.

You will lead a team of four, experienced, finance business partners responsible for ensuring that our monthly and annual primary care finance reporting is accurate, with the information interpreted in a way that supports internal decision-making from finance and non-finance colleagues.

You will be the lead finance business partner for assigned areas of primary care and will be expected to gain an in-depth understanding the policy and operational plans for these areas. You will need to build strong relationships with colleagues in our primary care directorate in particular to deliver on this.

You will use this understanding and these relationships to ensure there is robust and complete financial forecasting and identification of risks and opportunities for these areas.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the robustness of forecasts produced by your team, and other colleagues in our primary care finance team. You will be responsible for bringing the work of the team together to give the overall financial picture for the directorate we support.

You will gain an in-depth understanding of our national primary care plans and performance, and translate this into a robust financial picture to support accurate and timely decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to join and help shape a new service. West London NHS Trust is recruiting to a new Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Service for Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham CAMHS. The team will undertake Intensive DBT training together in November 2024, provided by British Isles DBT.

The service will provide assessment, treatment; training and consultation in relation to young people aged 12 to 18 who present with persistent self-harm and suicidal behaviour, which may be in the context of emotional dysregulation. Many of the young people seen will present with complex needs including high risk behaviours. All young people seen will have a comprehensive assessment to inform decision making and planning for the future. Each team member will have a small caseload and the team will support each other via consultation meetings and supervision.

Within the DBT service each clinician will play an active role in all aspects of the service, including assessment, treatment (individual therapy, skills group, phone coaching) teaching, training, research, and service development.

The post holder will be required:

•To provide specialist DBT to the service users of the WL CAMHS DBT Service, including specialist assessment and intervention for young people referred to the service. Contribute to service evaluation, policy development, audit, evaluation, and research in the area of self-harm and emotional dysregulation. Provide clinical supervision, teaching and consultation as appropriate.

• To use and maintain skilled standards of professional clinical practice in the treatment modalities required by the children and young people attending the DBT service and be a resource to the whole service in maintaining the skills of others.

•To manage their own caseload and provide specialist DBT interventions for young people. They will be responsible for the provision of skills training groups for young people and parents/carers.

•To work in partnership with schools, social services departments, as well as local and national services to support integrated practice and service delivery.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our team as a Paediatric Senior sister/charge nurse in the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) and Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU).

We are seeking an experienced paediatric ED nurse who is passionate about improving care and service delivery within the units, meeting the needs of our patients whilst also meeting the national standards for emergency care.

The Children’s Emergency Department is a purpose-built environment for children and young people aged 0-15 years and has approximately31,000attendances a year across our Children's Emergency and urgent care pathways.

It has a dedicated 2 bedded resuscitation area within the unit and is part of the major trauma network. CED is co-located with the Paediatric Assessment unit which provides short stay care for children for 24 hours. There is also an urgent treatment centre on site.

We are a friendly dedicated team of Paediatric Nurses and Paediatric consultants. The department is committed to continuous improvements in the service and benefits from having a Paediatric Emergency Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner service. There is also support from the paediatric practice education team.
