As a Nurse your key duties include:

A host home/life-sharing site is occupied by the owner or lessee, who is not an employee of the same community provider, which provides the host home/life-sharing services by contract with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (Division of DD). The Division of DD approves and enters into agreements with community providers, which in turn, contract with Host Home/Life-Sharing providers. A Qualified Professional serves as the primary individual contributor, coordinating and monitoring the array of services and supports needed to address each person’s goals and desired outcomes as identified through the personal outcome interview, including health and well-being, psychological, and promotion of personal independence. The QP assists each person in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports. The QP supervises, integrates and coordinates person centered plans, and monitors progress towards personal, clinical, and functional outcomes. • Assisting each person we support to identify and communicate his or her requests and needs for services and supports through direct interviews

 Position Highlights:

 Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Medical Lab Scientist for the Blood Bank.  This role will be great for someone that has a passion for lab and great customer service for our patients we serve.  This specific position will work in Omaha, NE.

Perform diagnostic testing to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Use comprehensive knowledge to accurately perform and evaluate highly complex laboratory testing in an efficient manner. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and provide excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory science OR associate's degree and MT(HEW) certification required. 

• Effective communication skills, initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required. 

• Certified medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MLS(ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or equivalent within 12 months eligibility/graduation required. Equivalent certifications include Medical Technologist (MT (ASCP)) OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist certified by the National Credentialing Agency (CLS (NCA)) prior to 2004; have previously qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR.1433 §493.1491amended 01/19/93 [58 FR 5236] on or before 2/28/92; or International certification and qualification: International Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCPi) 1 with approval from the ASCPi required.

• Individuals who were certified beginning January 1, 2004 maintaining their certification by participation in the ASCP ---Board of Certification (BOC) Certification Maintenance Program (ASCP)CM required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Progressive, successful experience in clinical laboratory medicine preferred.

Performs a variety of Human Resources, Training, Payroll and Administrative functions for a single business location including: coordinating the unit hiring process, maintaining employee records, processing employee paperwork, reconciling unit payroll, conducting orientation and training, assisting with employee relations/communication and performing administrative functions as needed. This position is an individual contributor that typically reports to the Business Office Manager.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and one year of HR, training or payroll experience. Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business or Psychology preferred.

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included:
Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 10 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.

Pay: $18/hr

Job Responsibilities:

• Participates in orientation training, developing schedules, entering data and performing external compliance tasks.
• Interviews applicants for employment, processes application forms and manages employee personnel files by performing the following duties.
• Provides information to applicants regarding application process, employment policies, organization, and open positions.
• Instructs applicants on completing employment applications, reviews applications for completeness, and obtains additional information from applicants in preparation for post-offer processing, such as work experience, education, training, skills, and references.
• Performs initial applicant interviews and arranges follow-up appointments with other interviewers as appropriate.
• Verifies and obtains reference and work history information from prior employers, educational organizations, individuals.
• Ensures that all background checks, registry checks and DMV checks are completed within required timeframes and that employee is eligible for hire based on these checks.
• Keeps applicant informed of application status.
• Enters and maintains information in a computer.
• May also establish and enter information in manual logs/records such as; applications and resumes, benefit tracking logs, PAR’s, etc.
• Documents employee selections in accordance with company goals & policy and in compliance with employment regulations.
• Places advertisements for open positions with agencies and media.
• Performs other responsibilities related to employment and training requirements
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• One year of HR, Training, Payroll or related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license including personal vehicle insurance coverage if applicable.
• Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
