A vacancy has arisen within the Property Repairs Services (incorporating Street Scene) for a management and finance assistant. The service delivers responsive property repairs, along with maintenance and future planning across street scene, together with void property refurbishments across several locations within the Borough.

The role will involve working on the financial elements within PRS to deliver a high-quality service by efficiently processing invoices, raising purchase orders, scrutinising jobs for correct allocation of materials and labour. You will be responsible for processing all financial works carried out by the service, whilst working closely with colleagues to ensure service delivery is efficient and effective.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a strong customer service background and robust problem-solving skills. In addition, the ability to prioritise work and react professionally to an ever-changing situation is an essential requisite for the role along with being an excellent team player with good administrative and communication skills.

The role will be office based with the option of various working patterns over the 30 hours per week.

A vacancy has arisen within the Property Services Team for a Property Repairs Multi Trade Operative. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate their skills along with knowledge and experience across a variety of building trades, at a professional level.

The successful candidate will be able to work easily as a part of a team and using their own initiative when required. Being polite, courteous and presentable is essential to ensure the customer is delighted with the service provided.

You should be able to work to a very high standard and at an acceptable pace to ensure the customer receives the quality service they expect from our team. A strong focus on health and safety must always be maintained.

The Property Services Team carries out works under the following trades and the ideal candidate will be proficient in at least several of these:


• Multi trade repairs
• Flooring
• Fencing
• Painting & decorating
• Carpentry
• Plumbing

The working week consists of 37hrs (Monday – Friday) with flexibility to work overtime to meet specific demands. Regular working in adverse conditions could be required with the role.

Basic IT skills will be required for this role although in house training will be provided.

CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM LEADER

This is a hands-on on team leading role with responsibility for the day to day supervision of the Customer Service Centre (CSC), reporting directly to the Customer Services Manager, and working routinely without the need for direct supervision. You need to be able to tackle problems and remove obstacles that prevent the customer accessing our services using a method that works for them.

You will therefore be working with colleagues, across the council, to deliver efficient and effective services that change and develop in line with customer needs. To do this, you must maintain an up to date knowledge of the Customer Service Centre's responsibilities and the actions required to complete each business process, including a working knowledge of call centre technology and CRM systems.

Town Park Ranger

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a variety of skills to proactively encourage and support the use of parks across Rugby. If you’ve got the passion to proactively work with park users, we’d love to hear from you.

This full-time role is based in Caldecott Park, although will involve visiting parks across Rugby. You will be the friendly face of parks and open spaces, engaging with members of the public, working with volunteers and community groups, assisting green space officers deliver the strategic vision of parks and open spaces, and to be the first point of contact with park users. Other duties include: reporting of damage and graffiti, assisting with the running of events, promoting park use and working effectively with other agencies. You must have excellent communication skills to work with a range of individuals, community groups, schools groups, volunteers and local businesses.

The successful candidate will be required to work a 37-hour week, occasionally working weekends and public holidays if support for parks events is required. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and using various modes of transport including walking and using a vehicle. A full driving license is required.

Successfully candidates will need to pass a security vetting through a Police intelligence check and an advanced DBS check.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Benefits Officer to join our Benefits Team, to undertake the administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction claims and Discretionary Housing Payment applications. Ideally, we would like someone with at least 3 years’ experience of working in this role.

The role is hybrid working with a 60/40 weekly split, minimum of 40% office based. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is a good team player but also confident working on their own.

We are a small team that work closely together but also alongside the Housing, Homelessness and Council tax teams to make sure we are providing the best support to members of our community who come to us for help in meeting their rent and council tax costs.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
• The ability to process claims correctly and quickly in accordance with legislative requirements and DWP targets.
• To maintain knowledge of and keep up to date with government policies relating to Benefits legislation including Universal Credit eligibility criteria and working practices of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments.
• To maintain knowledge of functions, procedures and systems relating to the assessment of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments.
• To respond to customer enquiries face to face, over the telephone and online. Communicate effectively and appropriately with customers verbally and in writing.
• To maintain accurate computerised records of data collected in respect of the administration and payment of claims.
Ideally you will have experience of working with Civica OpenRevenues and Workflow systems, but this is not essential as training can be provided.
