The Head of DRUM ASIA has a pivotal leadership role. Sat very much at the heart of the region, the HoDA works with key PHD/OMG stakeholders to help unlock new and exciting opportunities across our client network, drive innovation with our partners, to ultimately build the DRUM offering.
Job Responsibilities
CLIENTS AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
• Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with key senior clients, consistently viewed as a true strategic asset and business partner by clients
• Maintain high-level of knowledge of clients’ strategic direction and marketing vision, offering commercially based and strategically structured solutions
• Realise cross-border and international opportunities with existing PHD/OMG clients driving creativity, innovation and growth
• Uncover new business opportunities through trusted client relationships and connections
• A visible presence externally through industry bodies, media and event opportunities
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
• Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and business leads in offices around the region to promote DRUM
• Supports teams in nurturing effective working relationships cross-market ensuring a collaborative integrated approach to work
• Support existing DRUM operations around the region to realise incremental revenue and commercial opportunities from existing and new client partnerships
• Engage with all relevant stakeholders as appropriate and ensure that DRUM has a clear role to deliver against a client’s business
• Viewed as a thought leader and regularly leads and contributes to agency events and activities
PRODUCT & INNOVATION
• Develop local commercial opportunities leveraging existing DRUM capabilities and resources
• Establish DRUM offering in areas with appetite – positioning, creds, case studies, ways of working, commercial structure
• Collaborate with partners to create and sell in new products, innovations and strategies to fuel further growth and challenge mediocrity for our teams and clients
• Active participation in producing ideas that inspire, motivate, engage and create commercial action
• Support agency teams on tier 1 briefs and opportunities top tier clients
• Support upskilling and mentoring of agency teams to ensure strategic thinking and storytelling are at the heart of all campaigns
• Seek proactive opportunities for brands outside of the confines of a brief
FINANCIAL / COMMERCIAL
• Drive revenue growth for DRUM to meet annual targets
• Work with CEO to establish and manage financial forecast for DRUM Asia to achieve success and growth
• Work with PHD/OMG leadership to help develop new standalone operations in local/emerging markets
• Establish commercial process with regional/local market agency leads to ensure all OOS DRUM services are accounted for, managed effectively and delivered in line with client contracts and negotiations
• Identify and proactively pursue new business opportunities within PHD/OMG client portfolio
Required Skills & Experience
• The ideal candidate would have a mixed background of creative thinking, marketing communications experience, and client service
• In terms of seniority, we are looking for someone with 10+ years’ of strong commercial, client and agency experience, ideally who has run an agency
• Strong bias to storytelling with sound understanding of content, partnership, social fundamentals and strategic planning capability across a number of channels
• Strategic thinker comfortable working at all levels of an organisation, who can lead and participate in senior discussions
• Strong decision making which considers multiple stakeholders and their issues
• Able to deliver broad business thinking offering clear articulation of the business goals behind the creation of social media
• Ability to engage and influence senior individuals/stakeholders/decision makers within OMG
• Ability to challenge others using appropriate approach and diplomacy to secure desired outcome
• Confident presenter at large meetings/conferences in an articulate and clear manner
• Strong negotiation skills able to accommodate a “win-win” solution
• Has a proven track record of leading and motivating a team of people with the ability to foster agency culture and cross agency collaboration and integration
• Future focused with a passion for innovation and new technology – latest platforms, technology tools and marketing solutions.
