An exciting innovative post has arisen within the clinical and professional development team.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated, forward thinking individual for the role of Clinical Education Facilitator to work within the NMAHP team. The post is crucial to support our expanding work streams of clinical skills, preceptorship, and the care certificate and, to our support workers pastorally in the clinical environment. The Integrated Community Paediatric Service (ICPS) is looking for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Healthcare Support Worker's (HCSW) to support the Children's Care Package Service. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate empathetic sensitive and compassionate approach to all children, young people families and carers.

The Care Package Service supports children and young people with complex health needs and their families across all community settings- home, school and social activities. There may be times when this support is also required within the hospital or hospice setting. Care is delivered as commissioned by the Integrated Care Board throughout a 24 hour period, 7 days a week.

Upon appointment, a 6 week induction period will be offered, with training and competence assessments to prepare staff for this role. Upon completion of induction period and training, HCSW's will expected to work with children and young people as part of a team as well as autonomously as a lone workers, indirectly supervised by registered nurses, following care plans and trust policies and procedures.

The development of these competencies and skills will be supported by the services training team. Administer prescribed medication working within Bolton FT medicines management policy.

Provide personal care, continence management and assistance with mobility on an individual basis, ensuring at all times infection control and safe moving and handling practices are adhered to.

Provide support to the existing consultants’ team and undertake expert clinical practice in HIV supporting the clinical director of the service.

Diagnose manage and treat sexually transmitted infections including HIV with reference to local and national guidelines.

Provide a comprehensive range of reversible contraceptives dependent on commissioning priorities, service needs and the skills and interests of the individual.

With the Clinical director of the service develop and review clinical pathways and evidence based clinical guidelines in SRH.

Jointly provide professional leadership for medical staff in the service including, appraisal, clinical supervision and input into their continuing professional development, and responsibility for induction and mentoring of new medical staff.

Provide clinical supervision and medical advice for all clinical staff according to the needs of the service.

This post has corporate responsibility for all aspects of the operationalisation of the Trust’s financial strategy on a day to day basis. The post holder has direct line management of senior staff within the department and holds a significant standing within the organisation as a whole. We welcome applications from experienced therapists who have a recognised Speech and Language therapy qualification, HCPC licence to practice and RCSLT registration. Although dysphagia training is not an essential criteria to apply for this role, dysphagia experience and interest is welcomed.

The successful applicant will be confident to work independently, have proven team working and communication skills, alongside knowledge of working with children with complex needs.

If successful, you will join our dedicated team of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants working collaboratively, with a range of professionals. You will be working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service.

You will need to be able to assess children using a range of materials and provide intervention to support the child's speech, language and communication needs as well as advise on provision within their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

You will therefore need to demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.

This may include working with interpreters to assess all languages which children are exposed to.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing advice for the EHCP review process.

Liaising with, and training other health, education and social service professionals; and to work in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
