Job Description: As a paramedic with AMS, you will be at the forefront of emergency medical care, providing advanced and basic emergency medical treatment and transportation under established protocols. You will operate ambulance equipment, respond to emergency calls, and maintain contact with hospital communication centers regarding patient conditions and locations. Additionally, you will be exposed to the other side of definitive care, seeing the continuation of care for patients beyond the A&E, providing a holistic understanding of patient treatment and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and transportation for emergency and non-emergency cases.
- Provide pre-hospital emergency care and life support to patients during ambulance transport to hospitals or emergency rooms.
- Lead and coordinate a 2- or 3-person team during emergency responses, making informed decisions regarding treatment procedures.
- Maintain professionalism, responsibility, and accountability in all duties.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and transport activities.
Requirements:
- Recognized Paramedic Certificate from EMS-SAFMTI/Civil Defence Academy, NITEC in Paramedic, JIBC Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Paramedicine, or other recognized qualifications.
- Physical fitness, including the ability to handle heavy loads.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one other local language.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to adapt, solve problems, and work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexible hours with benefits provided for extra hours worked.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 due to the high-risk nature of the position.
This is a frontline position; candidates are required to be fully vaccinated by MOH. Candidates who do not wish to be vaccinated will not be considered for the position.
