Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with a strong background in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Difficulties (SEMD)?

As a Learning Support Assistant working through Teaching Personnel, your role will be both challenging and highly rewarding. You will play a vital part in helping pupils with additional needs achieve their full potential. The schools we work with rely on LSAs to provide essential support to pupils with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

1:1 Support: You will be working directly with pupils on a one-to-one basis, helping to tailor their learning experience according to their individual needs. You'll be a supportive and encouraging presence in the classroom, enabling students to better engage with the curriculum.

Small Group Interventions: For some students, working in smaller groups away from the main class environment will be key to their progress. You will lead or assist in delivering small group sessions, helping students improve their academic and social skills.

Promoting Positive Behaviour: You'll play a critical role in supporting pupils with SEMH and SEMD by helping them develop positive coping strategies, emotional regulation, and social interaction skills. Your support will contribute to creating a stable and nurturing environment.

Differentiating Work: You will be expected to help adapt and modify learning materials and tasks to suit the needs of individual students or groups, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.

Collaboration with Teachers & SENCO: You'll work closely with class teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other support staff to develop strategies and interventions that promote the academic and emotional well-being of students.

Support Outside the Classroom: Some students may require support during less structured times of the day, such as break times or during school trips. You will help to ensure that pupils feel safe, included, and supported throughout the school day.

Monitor Progress: You will observe and document the progress of the pupils you work with, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to reviews of learning plans.

We are seeking dedicated, hardworking, and empathetic LSAs who are committed to supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, and SEMD. You will need to be resilient, patient, and have a flexible approach to working with students who face diverse and complex challenges. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in:
- Working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Supporting students with ADHD, Attachment Disorder, or Anxiety
- Managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive emotional well-being
- Creating a supportive and structured environment for pupils with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
