Job Purpose

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will play a pivotal role in the Group’s leadership team. They will provide vision, professional leadership and strategic direction to achieve the Group’s aims and improvements in quality, efficiency and effectiveness.



The CIO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Team Clerk to join our caring and progressive team in Thanet (St. Augustines, Westgate & Mildmay Court, Ramsgate).

You will share the CARE values of the trust and work within a close-knit group of people who bring the feeling of community to the team through their hard work and dedication to the people of the area.

Our Clerks are a vital part of our NHS community teams. With a large caseload of patients across east Kent we literally couldn’t function without them. This is an office-based role, 37.5 hours per week and you will be required to travel and work between sites.

As a Team Clerk, you will work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services.

Team Clerks are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy.

The post-holder will be involved in a variety of interesting duties, some of which may include:

• Telephone patients to complete patient experience surveys
• Use of patient records system (RIO) to pull reports, send patient letters and assist the clinical team
• Check stock supplies and request orders through NHS Supply Chain
• Print, scan & upload documents
• Generic Team emails
• Produce Patient Packs
• Monitor equipment (syringe drivers sign in/out sheet)
• Any other administrative duties as required

The post holder will also be responsible for completing Court Reports outlining individuals needs that may need be taken into account when decisions about charging and sentencing are made. The post holder will work in a trauma informed way, providing appropriate liaison to prevent an individual having to re-tell their story. The post holder will require additional vetting from Staffordshire Police / His Majestys Prison Service for roles based within the Police Custody settings and Prison Settings. The post holder will be required to provide high quality information to key decision makers in youth and criminal justice agencies, including the police, courts, probation and Youth Offending Teams (YOTs).

To provide day to day supervision of the departments at Royal Stoke ensuring staff rotas are completed and giving instruction that all key tasks are covered, escalating issues as they arise. To respond to queries and problems as they arise, and if necessary escalate to your manager To undertake inductions of Health Records staff To provide cover during periods of absence for the Health Records Support Manager to ensure the smooth running of the department To carry out the Individual Performance Reviews of staff within your area of responsibility To contribute towards the training of Health Records Staff and support career progression To contribute towards the training of other Trust staff whose work involves Health Records functions To assist other managers within Health Records in training in Health and Safety issues, i.e. Manual Handling and Lifting To have responsibility for the management of Health and Safety within the Health Records Offices Ensure that all casenotes received into the department are logged onto the casenote tracking system and filed in a timely manner using the core departmental systems (for example IFit, Medway and iPortal) To support the scanning process ensuring all clinic packs and documents required to be scanned are completed in a timely manner To contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and key performance indicators for the department and if required advise service users on compliance relating to the management and storage of patient health records To participate in the out of hours on call rota for the retrieval of casenotes required in an emergency To provide help when needed within the Subject Access Office. Post will require frequent periods of sitting or standing, filing and inputting at the keyboard for most of day, and will include elements of lifting, sorting, filing, general handling of case records as well as pushing trolleys with patient notes Post will mainly have contact with staff and may be subject to occasional distressing or emotional circumstances as part of their daily tasks when supporting staff within their area of supervision. NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification. Technical member or Associate member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or working towards Tech IOSH Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a large organisation such as the NHS Good presentation and training skills, preferably evident by qualification. Good working knowledge of computer based systems such as Office365. The post holder must be enthusiastic, approachable, committed and have a flexible working approach and there is often a need for effective influence and negotiation skills especially when implementing change in safe working practices and providing advice to enable a safe working environment to be created.
