We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Steps to Recovery Service based at Hertford House, situated on the Birmingham/ Solihull border.

Steps to Recovery services adopt a shared team approach, working together to support and engage service users with psychosis, many with a history of multiple admissions and with complex needs, low levels of engagement and often behaviours that challenge teams.

As a team member you will be delivering strategies to support and enable individuals to participate in recovery-based activities, engage in treatments, and develop skills to support returning successfully to their own homes or support with sourcing appropriate accommodations to meet their needs in the community.

Hertford House is a male only unit of ten beds and two independent assessment flats. Service users have severe and enduring mental illness but are all engaged actively in rehabilitation plans that focus on them 'living their best life' with or without symptoms and with a view toward independent living. The unit recognises the importance of engagement and motivation in recovery and OT plays an important role in care planning.
• Developing personalised programmes of care for service users alongside other team members, which include psychology, medical, pharmacy, nursing and support staff. OT staff are responsible for focusing on developing structured goal orientated interventions to address issues all areas of functioning and to increase independent living.
• Carrying out specific OT assessments to support care planning and any discharge needs. This may include specialised assessments to support funding packages or specialised intervention
Liaison with OT staff in the Intensive Community Rehabilitation team and other community based teams to ensure that any needs identified within the rehab teams are reviewed and service users are given opportunities to meet their specific and ongoing goals for OT involvement.

We have an exciting secondment opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our North Adult Acute In-patient management team as a Clinical Quality Assurance Manager for 12 months.
You will provide robust, consistent, practical and evidence-based day-to-day clinical and operational leadership and management support on George Ward and Eden Acute Ward.
You will be expected to work Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. However, you may be required to do some nights and weekends to give you greater insights into the clinical and operational challenges across the North Inpatient Wards.



You will need to have a proven track record of being a leader and manager at Band 7 or 8a.

We are looking for an individual who will support the ongoing development of the service. You will have knowledge and interest in quality and governance, demonstrating an innovative and dynamic approach to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, holistic, patient-centred care in a challenging and fast paced environment.





You will be expected to work alongside the Matron and CNM and the rest of the multi-disciplinary team to participate in service improvements and evaluation, clinically and operationally supporting the ward managers and wider team to deliver the enhanced monitoring implementation framework.





To ensure there are effective systems that supports the provision of high-quality care and treatment to all patients.



Foster a learning care environment that teaches, develops, and supports staff to fulfil their role requirements.



To manage and organise work as required and support managers to effectively deliver the enhanced monitoring implementation plan.



Take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence-based practice for service users with complex needs, ensuring that it supports and reflects service user individual needs, Trust objectives and professional guidance.



Lead on creating an environment that promotes critical reflection to improve care outcomes utilising evidence-based practice and embedding QI.



Develop ways in which to receive service user and partner feedback and adapt service provision accordingly.



Ensure that high quality care provision with highly complex service users and groups is provided.



Ensure that the ward functions as an integral part of the Directorate’s services.



Effective communication with all relevant personnel both internal and external to the Trust.



To practice within professional guidelines and promote professional practice in clinical area.



To ensure continuous personal development through the utilisation of regular supervision, annual appraisal and training where appropriate.



Maintain quality care provision within the service budget including rota management.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to take up the position of band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) on Lavender suite, our female acute 16 bedded inpatient ward.

You will be based on Lavender, working as a key member of that team where you will develop and deliver occupational therapy (OT) provision to a designated caseload. You will focus on occupational performance, complex mental health presentations, risk management and evaluating outcomes aligned to personalised care plans. You will implement and facilitate individual and group programmes of clinical intervention in collaboration with the senior b6 OT, activity workers and other professionals for effective recovery and discharge.

Whilst you will be based with a specific ward team, as a member of the wider occupational therapy service there may be occasions when flexibility of location is required to accommodate clinical need. Post holders are expected to work shift patterns that include long days, early and late shifts to be provided over a 7-day period.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate well and use their professional skills and knowledge to work effectively across the service, as well as displaying ability to work on their own initiative and be a committed team player.

You will be joining a hard-working multi-disciplinary team dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for service users and carers. You will be involved in a variety of professional roles to include supporting the day-to-day decision making on the ward, designated supervision responsibilities, leadership of various individual projects, quality initiatives and service developments that support the trust strategy. This will equip you to embrace our philosophy of care; that the service user is at the heart of everything that we do. You will be expected to be flexible in your approach and welcome the opportunity to build on your existing experience and skills.

This position would be ideal for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a vision to develop their career and clinical expertise within an acute mental health environment. You will be expected to utilise specialist functional assessments and interventions utilising the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) which is primarily used within the trust.

We have two exciting vacancies for Clinical or Counselling Practitioner Psychologists within our Integrated Community Care and Recovery (ICCR) Services working with adults with mental health difficulties. These two posts are fixed term posts to cover team member Maternity leaves. The North Hub post is 1.0wte for a 9 month period and the Solihull post is 1.0wte for a 12 month period. The North Hub post is based at Northcroft. The Solihull Hub post is based across the Solihull Hub, inputting to teams based at the Maple Leaf Centre in North Solihull and Lyndon Resource Centre in South Solihull. These are ideal posts to apply your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including consultation, training, supervision, service development and leadership in addition to direct clinical work. We are looking for suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologists (or equivalent applied Psychological Practitioner). Applicants for a band 7 post are also encouraged to apply if they do not currently have suitable experience for an 8a banding.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and skilled clinician who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multi-level and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.
