BROAD FUNCTION
To assess, identify individual needs, formulate/develop and implement appropriate individualized physiotherapy programs for potential clients and clients of Blue Cross Thong Kheng Home which aims to facilitate, restore, improve or maintain movement and functional abilities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
I Physiotherapy Treatment
1. Assess and identify individual needs of clients and formulate/ develop and implement appropriate individualized physiotherapy programs. These would aim to facilitate, restore, improve or maintain movement and functional abilities.
2. Work with clients on a one-to-one basis, group or special setting based on their levels of function and severity of disability.
3. Liaise with various disciplines involved in the rehabilitative treatment process.
4. Evaluate and document clients’ physiotherapy needs and progress at regular intervals, monitor training programs and review their effectiveness.
5. Provide consultation, support and update about the clients’ progress and status to caregivers and all those involved in the rehabilitation team.
6. Refer clients to the respective specialists for consultation and appropriate intervention.
7. Evaluate, prescribe and fabricate/purchase assistive devices to improve movement as required by the clients.
8. Train and supervise caregiver/volunteers in the maintenance of therapy programs.
9. Involved in discussions of client-related issues with caregivers, volunteers and members of the rehabilitative team.
10. Work at all times within the scope of the Workplace Safety and Health Act of 2009 and the Home policy for reporting of accidents, incidents, hazards and risk management.
11. Maintain and protect the safety, confidentiality and dignity of the clients and families.
12. Maintain the principles of the Personal Data Protection Act of 2012 both within and outside the Home environment.
II. Administration
1. Maintain efficient records of clientele and document the following: -
a. Initial assessment
b. Therapy goals, aims and objectives
c. Review therapy plan when necessary
d. Schedule planning
e. Discharge planning
f. Maintain database of all clients
2. Engage in administrative duties relevant to departmental work
3. Evaluation of effectiveness/relevance of program
III. Professional /Staff Development
1. Keep abreast of latest development in service delivery of physiotherapy-related areas to ensure that therapy programmes are kept updated.
2. Involve in research where possible, relevant to areas of physiotherapy service delivery.
IV. Other Activities
7. Work with the multi-disciplinary team in integrating the clients into the community.
8. Attend relevant meetings and give necessary input.
9. Undertake responsibility and duties assigned by the Head of Home from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Therapy Science from an accredited institution, and at least two year of relevant working experience.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCES
Adequate administrative, organizing, writing and interpersonal skills to take on the above-mentioned tasks, as well as the compassion to help the needy and the disadvantaged.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position may be required to work in a stressful environment often dealing with residents in crisis situations. The ability to function independently and under pressure is an ongoing expectation of this position. Evening and weekend work may be required.
