We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead our commercial veterinary team for our Animal Health Division. As a global leader in animal health, we are dedicated to “the science of healthier animals” and improving the well-being of animals by providing innovative solutions, products, and services.
The Executive Director, Professional Services Lead will play a critical role in leading our medical and business strategy uniting the perspectives of customers, practice owners, patients, and internal stakeholders to drive the success of our Animal Health Division. The Professional Services Leader will report to the Vice President (VP) of the US Companion Animal & Equine (CA&E) business unit and will lead the CA&E Veterinary Professional Service team including the field organization, Pharmacovigilance, and Veterinary Insights and Medical Affairs. The individual will manage all associated strategic projects, partnerships, and budgets. This individual will also interact with the global species teams, key industry opinion leaders and customer executives to achieve the goals of the US Companion Animal & Equine business of our Animal Health Division.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement the medical strategy and vision for our Animal Health Division, aligning with the overall business objectives and corporate values.
Work in close collaboration with the Marketing, Sales, Government Affairs, Communications, and Research and Development. Drive to ensure the best “go to market strategies” for commercialization and delivery of products for the US Companion Animal & Equine (CA&E) team.
Represent our Animal Health Division in scientific and industry forums, establishing the company as a thought leader in veterinary medicine and animal health.
Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academia, and industry experts to foster collaboration and stay informed of emerging trends and advancements in veterinary medicine.
Provide medical expertise and guidance to internal teams, ensuring the highest scientific and clinical standards are maintained throughout product development, launch, and post-marketing stages.
Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of veterinary professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
Engages and leads the development and execution of business plans for divisional and cross-divisional projects as agreed upon by US CA&E Business Leadership Team
Actively collaborates with the Executive Director of the Livestock Technical Service teams and the Canadian Technical Team to coordinate and gain efficiencies in execution of Technical Service across the entire North American business.
Represents our Animal Health Division as scientific speaker on key CA&E industry topics and meetings by communicating strategic, scientific research. Partners with industry associations and organizations to lead industry-wide research in support of scientific and other animal health related topics.
Partners with Corporate Communications to develop strategy to respond to inquiries and supports PR/ Media.
Obtains valuable real-world information and insight through various channels, networking, and customer interactions to strategically prioritize marketing initiatives, product development and Market Support Study (MSS) execution.
The travel requirements for this position are a minimum of 50-60% of the time. Travel responsibilities will be prioritized by project value and primarily domestic.
Scope and Context:
The focus of this position is strategic and operational, and the scope of activities managed is complex. The position requires a highly skilled, scientific, and commercially oriented leader with the ability to motivate others and maintain the integrity of our company's Companion Animal and Equine brands to the highest standards of excellence. This position is responsible for a team of approximately 9 direct reports and 100 indirect reports and manages a multi-million-dollar budget.

Education:
Required Experience and Skills:
15 years’ experience in the Animal Health Industry and at least 5 years clinical practice experience
5 years of people management experience and demonstrated skills in coaching and people development.
Proven track record of leadership and strategic decision-making in a comparable role within the animal health industry.
Strong understanding of veterinary medicine market trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
Must demonstrate business acumen to effectively develop and manage budgets, projects and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to draw appropriate and scientifically balanced conclusions from reports/data, and analyses to support product recommendations.
Must be able to plan and coordinate strategic project activities, collaborating with other stakeholders to maximize team’s results.
Demonstrated deep understanding of customers’ or stakeholders’ needs, requirements and expectations in order to continuously seek new ways to improve the delivery of products and services.
Skilled at developing strong networks and relationships across functions and other organizational boundaries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$220,700.00 - $347,500.00
