The Square Australia Sales team is looking for a Senior Account Executive to accelerate our shift upmarket. You will be a brand ambassador for Square Australia, sourcing large opportunities outside traditional channels. Your depth of commercial acumen will guide prospects in their evaluation of our platform across a suite of software, hardware and embedded financial services to see if we are suited to solve the diverse challenges they face today. You will work with Square's most prominent use-cases across multiple markets and will report to the Sales Manager, Australia. This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

Marketplace under Cash App provides different payment products such as Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) or monthly payment options to customers. The Fraud Risk team builds scalable systems that power our modelers and decision scientists to develop and deploy strategies to battle fraudsters to ensure the health of the business. In addition, we build end-to-end customer experience for risk assessments.  

As a member of the team, you will design, build and launch fraud risk products and features. We build our services over Cash App's ever-evolving infrastructure, and as a senior engineer on the team, you will embrace these changes and scale our tech stack to promote future evolvability. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct, tangible impact on our product and work on projects that are critical to the business’s success. You'll be reporting to an Engineering Manager and working on a distributed team with members in the USA, Shanghai and Melbourne.

Job Description

The BI Team at Cash App enables our teams to make impactful business decisions. Our BI Engineers handle everything from data architecture and modeling to data pipeline tooling and dashboarding. As Senior BI Engineer at Cash App, you will report to the BI Manager and work with Analysts, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to lay the foundation for analyzing our large, unique dataset. We are an extremely data-driven team - from understanding our customers, managing and operating our business, to informing product development. You will build, curate, document, and manage key datasets and ETLs to increase the impact of the entire team. You will develop strong partnership with our stakeholders by understanding their priorities and pain points and deliver value via our data, reporting, and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Create brand new and optimize existing data models in the Commerce domain at Cash App. 
• Build strong partnerships with Product Data Scientist, Product Manager, and Software Engineer teams by understanding their priorities and pain points and deliver values from our data, reporting, and interactive data products. 
• Build reusable data engineering framework to improve the data quality, reliability, and scalability of our ETLs using a combination of tools like dbt, prefect, airflow, databricks, spark, etc.
• Mentor and coach team members to adopt data modeling best practice, improve data engineering solutions, and adopt developing, testing, and release best practice.
• Collaborate with external teams including data infrastructure, tooling, and raw data provision teams to keep updated on data engineering framework, tooling, and engineering excellence. 
• Enable stakeholders from less technical teams to self service data pipelines using UI-based task orchestration tools.

Block is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, reporting to Financial Reporting Manager, with a primary focus on APAC financial reporting, regulatory reporting and technical accounting. This role is part of the Global Financial Reporting team and will be primarily responsible for preparing and coordinating aspects of the international statutory financial statement and their audits, as well as regulatory reporting requirements for the Company. Additionally, this role will support the Global Financial Reporting team to assist in the filing of the 10-Qs / 10-Ks and various ad-hoc technical accounting projects.

You Will:

• Coordinate, prepare, and review annual statutory financial statements for multiple international entities applying local GAAP / IFRS accounting guidance
• Collaborate with external auditors and other teams such as accounting, tax, legal, etc. as part of the preparation of the financial statements and statutory audits
• Prepare various regulatory authority filings for Block’s APAC region of operations
• Prepare various statistical surveys - this encompasses reporting to several government authorities such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Statistics NZ
• Assist with quarterly and annual ad-hoc regulatory reporting requirements such as APRA
• Assist with research, evaluation and documentation of technical accounting analysis and reporting implications, as well as other corporate accounting and reporting matters that may arise for various entities
• Help with special projects, technical accounting projects, and application of new accounting guidelines
• Assist with quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, including compliance with financial reporting SOX control requirements
