Support the development and rollout of the security strategy through holistic risk management, board and executive involvement, user awareness, technology initiatives, risk profile management (posture, score), up to date policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, pen testing, vulnerability scanning, and patch management to ensure Wandle is safe and secure in its online space. Ultimately, to comply with, achieve and maintain Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
Support a 24x7 Cyber security service to proactively prevent attack through the reduction of attack vectors, support a Cyber incident response plan (CIRP), business continuity and disaster recovery strategy, and Cyber insurance, in the event an attack occurs. As part of which, you will proactively monitor, respond to and remediate any threats through a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC).
Work with members of the wider Wandle Team to deliver technological solutions aligned to the IT Team plans, security strategy, data strategy and programme management approach.

Key Competencies for the role

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
Must have industry-recognized certifications in Security+, CISSP or similar.


What you’ll need:

At least three years’ experience in information security or a related field
Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
Excellent time management and communication skills
Strong ability to research technical challenges and learn quickly to provide security guidance
Demonstrated ability of analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, and solution-oriented
Ability to administer network and host-based tools for pen testing & ethical hacking products
Knowledge of host compromise & malware injection techniques
Experience with cloud infrastructure and provisioning technology
Excellent oral & written technical communication skills

This position will support senior Security Governance team members and work closely with various business, risk and technology stakeholders to:
