Job Title : Finance Executive ( Infant Jesus Homes and Children's Centres)
Reporting Officer : Head, Corporate Services
Job Summary
The Finance Executive has overall responsibility for strategic planning, implementation, managing all finance activities of IJHCC including budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as reporting and compliance with the required charity regulations and guidelines.
You will be required to work closely with the Head, Corporate Services, Executive Director and the Treasurer to analyse, plan and propose strategic recommendations for the Management Committee to make appropriate business decisions for IJHCC.
Job Duties
- Oversee and review works done by outsourced provider (provision of monthly book-keeping and financial reporting services) to ensure timely capturing of financial information essential for prompt and accurate financial reporting.
- Create and implement financial policies for IJHCC.
- Manage financial processes for forecasting and budgets, preparation and analysis of all financial reporting (mthly, quarterly and annual reports) to board members, management team and stakeholders.
- Monitor cash-flow of IJHCC by monitoring income, expenditure, and investments.
- Maintain receipts and records for all transactions, including donations
- Prepare financial evaluation on viability of outreach programs and charitable activities, and identify areas for potential improvement.
- Monitor transactions, identifying irregularities in invoices, monitor bank deposits and payments, etc.
- Maintain comprehensive Investment and Fixed Asset listings essential for management’s analysis.
- Ensure the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for IJHCC
- Monitor, strengthen and establish internal controls and process improvement for Finance policies and processes.
- Lialise with Caritas, auditors, banks and external parties on finance activities
- Adhere to financial regulations and legislation such as Commission of Charity, NCSS, Ministry of Social and Family Development.
- Oversee outsource vendor, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in financial audits
- Perform regular financial analysis; resolving issues, analysis of trends and investment opportunities in view of attaining long term sustainability of financial resources.
- Handle the accountability of donations – in-cash/in-kind (collection, receipts issuance, IRAS submission
- . Work with all departments to ensure adherence to IJHCC financial controls and policies coupled with review and implement process improvement
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications – Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent years of experience
- Has at least 5 to 8 years of experience, (in social service or charity sector will be an advantage).
Skills
· Strong knowledge of financial account systems such as QuickBooks and good knowledge of Charity accounting.
· Must be able to handle Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint Understand data protection standards.
· Familiarity with donation handling and adherence to governance requirements for IPC status will be an advantage.
