Job Specification for the Post of Gospel Crusade/Outreach Minister
Hours of work: 20 per week
Reports to: Minister-in-Charge/Lead Pastor
Direct reports: The Outreach Worker will work with a team of volunteers, Church Members and the Minister-in-Charge/Lead Pastor in order to ensure that systems are established and maintained, and tasks are accomplished and/or effectively delegated.
CLASS Church is an evangelical Church in South East/Greater London that is seeking to grow by engaging people within the city and seeing them come to faith. Therefore, we are looking at taking on a part-time Church Minister to help create links with those outside of the Church, mobilize volunteers, put together evangelistic events and help keep the Church focused on mission which we’d like to see become full-time in the future..
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Characteristics:
To be successful in this role, you will fulfill the biblical qualifications for eldership (Acts 20:28-31, 1 Tim 3:2-7, Titus 1:6-8, 1 Peter 5:1-4). Specifically, you will:
Have a vibrant spiritual life which would include a focus on study, leadership development, prayer and a love for the local Church.
Support the vision and mission of CLASS Church in South East London/Greater London
Have a passion for Church health and Church growth: through seeing people come to faith, and being discipled and mobilized.
Be able to lead yourself and a team.
Be a good communicator (one-to-one and within the context of preaching) and possess good interpersonal skills
Be a good example of building non-church relationships
Have the ability to plan and organise events.
Overview of Job Requirements:
Under the direction of the Minister-in-Charge/Lead Pastor, the role will require you to:
Oversee the ministry team areas of the Church to ensure a clear and healthy mission focus.
Encourage and develop church members to be personal witnesses of their faith in Jesus.
Become a Trustee of the Church to give input on evangelism and outreach.
Serve on the Missions Team of the church.
Preach in the absence of the Lead Pastor or when required by the church.
Assist the Lead Pastor in the planning and organising of church outreach and other community events.
Keep up to date on evangelistic and witnessing resources, materials and methods: cooperating with them and other FM personnel, developments and interests.
Oversee the annual estimated budget for evangelistic and outreach needs.
Perform others duties as assigned by the Minister-in-Charge/Pastor.
