The selectee will serve as a Cartographic Technician (Geospatial) in the Office of Protective Operations, Special Operations Division. Typical work assignments include:
- Collecting, maintaining and analyzing spatial and non-spatial data utilizing GIS software to develop maps and other visual products.
- Participating in the planning and the development of briefings on geospatial plans as they relate to integrated tactical coverage for National Special Security Events.
- Leveraging programs such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS portal, ERSI City Engine to collect, edit, manipulate and generate interim and final digital data and GIS products such as Grid Reference Guides.
- Coordinating and liaising with other Secret Service divisions and federal, state and local agencies to obtain data/information and tactical coverage.
- Providing technical guidance and direction to USSS personnel and partners regarding usage and application of GIS data.
