Determines technical factors, positioning, number, and thickness of scans, etc., to produce and satisfy requirements of CT scanning. Assists with scheduling add-on patients for examinations. Advises radiologists or referring physicians of examination results. Notifies them of scans requiring their immediate attention.
• Performs all procedures relative to all general C.T. exams and more complex exams such as CTA coronary, abdominal and neuro, exams.
• During IR procedures, the CT tech will identify area(s) of interest, places grid on patient, and scan to demonstrate for radiologist proper location for needle insertion. Will continue to scan when needed with continuous observation of CT dose optimization. Send all images and complete exam efficiently.
• Prepares contrast materials that are used in CT. Improper use or administration of the contrast materials run the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that a thorough understanding of the contrast material usage is possessed by those who prepare it. In addition, must be continuously on the alert to the patient's condition and other disorders. Reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so that harm does not come to the patient. Is certified to insert IV needles for administration of contrast material when necessary.
• Practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self. This is achieved using lead aprons, lead gloves, lead shields, lead lined walls and collimation. Film badges are worn by the technologists in compliance with radiation regulations.
• Performs reconstructions of CT and angiographic studies when requested or when part of a standard procedure. Along with reprocessing data on 3D workstation, including, but not limited to, MIP's and Volume Rendering.
• Maintains CT schedule to notify staff when patient needs labs, is allergic to contrast, which patient(s) will need oral contrast, and any add-on CTs. Maintains workflow of new orders for protocoling under policy 23.
• Properly identifies patient images. This is essential so that mistaken identity of patient images does not occur. The technologist must be certain that the patient identifiers and the request are identical. Confirms patient identity by verbally confirming patient's full name and date of birth.
• Responsible to explain exams to competent patients so that patients understand what is to be done as well as what hazards, if any, are possible, and have informed consent ready for known allergic reaction &/or less than standard labs for contrast procedures.
• Responsible for stocking and inventory of all CT supplies and related materials.
• Performs on call coverage, on a rotating basis, with other CT technologists. Requires the technologist be available within 30 minutes from receipt of call so that proper and effective emergency care can be given to the patient. May be required to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations.
• Continually reviews new developments in the field of computerized tomography. Is continually on the alert to improve quality of exams utilizing the new technologies available. The purpose of this review is to provide the patients with the best possible scans for diagnostic purposes.

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Reviews existing stock and manufacturers' catalogs, manuals and listings to obtain substitute or interchangeable items to supply in lieu of items requisitioned.
• Communicates with customers and vendors to obtain information regarding availability and functionality of non-expandable equipment and supplies.
• Provides guidance to customers on identification of material through research of original equipment manufacturers part catalog for part numbers, descriptions, and size of parts needed.
• Processes applicable catalog update transactions in accordance with current published procedures.
• Periodically, reviews assigned manufacturers code and part numbers for continued validity and takes necessary action to update, delete, or dispose of in accordance with published guidelines.
• Interacts with clinical and administrative customers to ensure issues and needs are identified and either resolved or escalated to supervisors or Inventory Management Specialists as needed.
• Communicates to the lead or supervisor any concerns related to supplies, equipment and procedures, providing information as needed orally or in writing regarding customer or external stakeholder issues, general telephone inquiries and visitor referrals.
• Coordinates drop-off of new or transferred equipment and pick up of turn in equipment; scanner pick up and drop off for annual Electronic Inventory Listing (EIL) inventory; and delivery times and area with contractors and vendors with other VA activities, contractors or manufacturers through personal transactions.
• Reviews numerous computer output listings in the performance of research and identification of supplies as well as prepares system inquires and interpret the responses.
• Receives non-expendable equipment and material into the VA Health Care System and supported catchment area.
• Unpacks/uncrates supplies from shipping cartons and properly scans, bar codes, and stores supplies and material.
• Stores items in accordance with established guidelines, utilizing a computerized inventory system, to ensure integrity of the supplies and material and the data integrity of the inventory management system.
• Distributes items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized inventory management system.
• Delivers equipment in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring equipment and material delivered are in operational condition.
• Processes receipt and turn-in transaction to record in the equipment system of record and account for incoming materiel.

The Social Worker works within the RRTP program providing treatment coordination and therapeutic interventions. This position focuses on helping Resident Veterans experiencing a wide range of complicated mental, addiction, behavioral, physical, psychosocial, and environmental problems. In addition to working individually with Residents, group psychotherapy is also expected. The position's goal is to maximize rehabilitation and treatment potential while assisting Veterans in achieving abstinence, emotional, economic, and housing stability before returning to their community of choice.

FUNCTIONS OR SCOPE OF ASSIGNED DUTIES
1. Incumbent must be able to independently implement the recovery model of treatment. The incumbent will carry a caseload and develop treatment plans, and will utilize the initial assessment to mutually develop treatment goals with the Veteran and guides the plan of care towards meeting those goals.
2. Requires a high level understanding of treatment coordination and discharge planning, working within the VA system to assist Veteran in re-engaging in their community of choice upon discharge. Provides ongoing treatment coordination services from admission until discharge coordinating closely with the entire treatment team.
3. Provides treatment coordination to a caseload of Residential Veterans. Daily 30 minute group treatment coordination meetings for assigned caseload. Meets individually with Veterans on assigned caseload a minimum of once every other week.
4. Provision of a minimum of 5 group hours a week and supplemental individual sessions as needed and recommended by the treatment team.
5. Incumbent is able to coordinate community-based services, including information and referral for additional services from other VA programs, other government programs and community agency programs.
6. Independently identifies high-risk patients. Provides crisis intervention services, seeking to address the cause as well as the presenting complaint, coordinates family conferences and serves as liaison to family members. Has working knowledge and experience in use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology.
7. Establishes and maintains effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans and their families. Incumbent is able to independently work with patients and families who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems utilizing individual, group and family counseling and therapy skills.
8. Independently provides consultation services to other staff regarding the psychosocial needs of Veterans and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and adherence to treatment plan.

The Peer Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member, assisting physicians and other professional/non-professional personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program. Peer specialists perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that include assisting Veterans in articulating their goals for recovery and personal wellness, learning, and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the peer specialist's own recovery experience, and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services.
Duties include, but not limited to the following:

• Participates in the service, training, consultation, and other professional activities of VA health care services and functions as a fully vested member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Uses personal recovery experiences to model coping techniques and recovery tolls to coach Veterans to relevant skills need for self-management of their health condition(s) and pursuit of their personal wellness.
• Observes behaviors that might indicate difficulty adapting or responding to treatment (e.g., missed assessment appointments, failure to attend or maintain abstinence, risk to self or others, disruptive behavior), completes appropriate documentation, and reports concerns to the treatment team in a timely manner.

Major Duties:

The RN Quality Management Consultant (QARN) demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to improvement in quality-of-care outcomes. The QM Consultant demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients. The QM Consultant is responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility. Program is defined as a substantial coordinated group of activities impacting patients and/or employees.

The QM Consultant is assigned responsibility for their assigned quality management program area activities for the Medical Center and all off-site locations. The QM Consultant collects data, monitors staff compliance with relevant policies, directives, and standards, provides reports detailing trends, and provides direct staff support to all services in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and administering, a comprehensive quality management program area. They participate in several facility councils, committees, and workgroups.

Executes the position responsibilities that demonstrate effective leadership, detailed planning, professional communication, creative and innovative approaches to the improvement of safety/healthcare program development and possess an ability to organize priorities. The QM Consultant works in concert with leaders and others to sustain a culture of safety, modeling High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices.

The QM Consultant performs duties directly contributing to high quality and safe patient care within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Duties require the ability to apply specialized principles and practices to ensure a systems approach to healthcare delivery. The QM Consultant directly supports facility leadership in areas of planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the quality program within the facility.
