Currently, Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 32 primary schools (19 of which have nurseries) and 2 stand alone nursery schools. Our special school, Saltersgate, provides support for children with a range of physical, social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. The schools range in size from our smallest primary school with around 20 children to our largest secondary with over 1200 pupils. We have a diverse range of school catchments, from rural to urban settings. We are fortunate to have a growing number of new build schools, with 15 of our primary schools and 2 secondary having been built within the last 10 years and several new builds planned.

The person:

We are looking to appoint a colleague who is an excellent teacher and has the subject knowledge, skills, drive and commitment to build on current strong foundations. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for teaching Art, strong subject knowledge, and be someone who is ready to get involved in our ongoing development of a broad and engaging curriculum offer for our students. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Artto KS3 and KS4.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of our clients on a permanent basis

The company is a worldwide designer, manufacturer of specialist engineering equipment used in a wide range of applications including oil and gas, power generation and petrochemical ad this is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and successful organisation.

Based in their purpose built premises in Hinckley, Leicestershire, the role will involve the provision of design and drafting support for the engineering team.

The main duties will include the following: -

Producing engineering drawings to be used in the manufacturing phase.
Preparation of 3D Creo / Solidworks and 2D AutoCAD models, and drawing generation to the budgeted hours.
Ensuring all drawings produced adhere to the Company’s CAD standards and procedures.
Assisting in product design efforts to meet specific customer requirements whilst also ensuring lowest cost functional design.
Managing the outsourced CAD drawing process with the companies other engineering and design offices based overseas.
Liaising with the supply chain in the UK and overseas on drawing related queries relating to live projects.
Creating manufacturing drawings from 3D models for release to production at the nominated supplier.
Liaising with the UK team on drawing queries from the supplier and work with overseas team on any projects which are outsourced via that route.
The successful applicant will be qualified to a minimum of HNC in a Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, and have a proven track record in in a drafting role using AutoCAD, Creo, MicroStation, Solidworks or similar.

They will also have an understanding of manufacturing processes, including light/medium gauge fabrication, paint / finishing with experience of producing associated drawings that meet both company standards and customer requirements.

Previous experience of working with fluid dynamics and/or acoustics would be an advantage but is not essential

The role may involve some UK and overseas travel and so candidates must be flexible with regards to travel.
