The role

As a Principal EC&I Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role sits within our Cavendish Nuclear business, from decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience across our projects.

• Assist in effective management of the customer, through interfacing with customers and supply chain on design issues and assist with procurement specifications
• Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
• Ensure that adequate review, verification and approval is undertaken on all their deliverables and for those under their direct control and supervision
• Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design of improvements
• Produce, review, verify outputs including: calculations, analyses, technical reports, technical specifications and method statements
• Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised to do so.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

The Deputy DIPC, working within the wider Corporate Team, will have significant Trust wide responsibility and will be accountable for the strategic, operational and budgetary management of the Infection Prevention (Corporate) Team. The post holder is the lead nursing/midwifery advisor on infection prevention across the Trust. The post holder will undertake a full portfolio of director responsibilities as agreed and delegated by the Executive Director (Chief Nursing Officer/ DIPC) and will be responsible and accountable for providing comprehensive and strong professional leadership, guidance advice, support and direction in relation to infection, prevention and control to the Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. The post holder will have significant Trust wide responsibility with respect to developing, leading and directing the Trusts programme to reduce healthcare-associated infections as established in national trajectories and locally as established in the Quality Improvement Strategy (QIS). The strong leadership, support and the development of the Infection Prevention Control Team in association with the Lead Infection Prevention Control Microbiologist/Infection Control clinicians is a central core function of this role as the DDIPC. The post holder will lead (on behalf of the DIPC/ CNO) effective health economy working and the joint interface with primary care and the public health agenda, driving improvement for joint improvement trajectories and monitoring the commissioning targets for Trust reports. The DDIPC will support and drive nursing research opportunities and oversee the delivery of a robust IPC education programme for all Trust staff both clinical and non-clinical. In partnership with the DIPC and the Trusts Divisional and Executive Teams, the post older will drive the development of IPC Strategy, develop and ensure the engagement of all staff groups, and patients and external stakeholders when appropriate, to ensure the culture of the whole health economy is one that puts patient safety at the centre of clinical care . Prepare information for regulatory visits such as Care Quality Commission. Work with colleagues to meet the needs of regulatory requirements. Work with other leads/managers of the service, to ensure aims and objectives are collectively delivered in a joined-up manner. Expertly handle timely, accurate and smooth functioning of relevant service level meetings. This includes organising, minute-taking, monitoring, and other related corporate activities required to meet the needs of the department and those involved. My client, an industry leading tier one civil engineering and construction firm are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their Rail division on a temporary contract in the North East of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious rail projects in the North East of England.

Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role, ideally coming from a main contractor background.

The Quality Engineer will:

• Ensure delivery teams progressively collate assurance evidence to certify the works
• Compile and review evidence for compliance against project specifications, drawings and industry standards
• Support the Quality Manager is reviewing Inspection & Test Plans and material approvals
• Interface with the supply chain to promote a right first time approach to works on site and ensure that Quality briefings are delivered regarding MSI standards and expectations for Quality
• Undertake site surveillance's to independently verify works are compliant
• Provide regular feedback to the delivery team Agent and Quality Manager on QA performance for the allocated sites
• Support the Quality Manager in the ongoing implementation of the project Quality Management Plan and integrated management system

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Highways Specification experience or Network Rail experience preferred
• Internal Auditor preferred
• PCQI preferred
• Have a wide understanding of the industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements
• Excellent working knowledge of industry techniques
• Good knowledge of relevant SHEQ requirements
• Be PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
• Pro active, can do attitude
• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
• Ability to problem solve and analyse technical issues
• High level of attention to detail
