Summary:

This position is in Tyson Logansport Scale house.  It ensures accurate livestock weights and payments to producers/truckers. Oversees livestock contracts and generates weekly/monthly reports to the plant and corporate.    

Duties/Responsibilities:

Verify livestock weights and download electronic scale data.

Generate payments to producers and truckers.

Audit weights and payments data.

Prepare various weekly/monthly spread sheets and reports for the plant and corporate.

Other duties as assigned.

Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks set priorities evaluate results. 

Must have the ability to work with a broad range of plant and corporate personnel as well as producers, truckers and financial institutions. 

Minimum of basic computer skills, MS Outlook, Word, Excel required.

Must have the ability to read and complete reports and required paperwork. 

Must be able to work independently with little to no direct supervision.

Excellent verbal communications skills are required.

Knowledge of basic office equipment and business practices required.

Applicant will be expected to cross-train in all areas of the office to provide vacation and sick coverage.

What You Will Do:

The DoD Audit Remediation and Internal Control Lead helps DoD clients optimize their internal control environment and help solve long standing or emerging challenges. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting audit remediation activities, such as developing/updating process documentation (e.g., narratives and flow charts), and developing/implementing corrective action plans to address findings

• Performing recurring testing, such as testing internal controls, designing and executing Manager’s Internal Controls Programs

• Providing targeted area support based on Component

• Manage and execute work streams

• Review all documentation prepared by more junior personnel

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET federal security clearance; or higher.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR or similar field.

• FOUR (4) years of workforce experience with minimum of THREE (3) years dealing with financial services.

• Ability to travel as needed.

• Reviews and analyzes monthly production reports and cycle update results to ensure systems continuity.
• Performs analysis of and studies regarding military pay financial status reports, and researches problems, defines the cause and effect to recommend a variety of resolution approaches for solutions.

• Designs, tests, implements and evaluates military pay and accounting systems affecting the Army Reserve, Army National Guard (ARNG), and active Army.
• Works with military pay specialists, accountants, and computer systems analysts to plan, develop, modify, test, debug, document, validate, train, evaluate and proliferate standard Army ADP systems for military pay and accounting for the total Army.
• As required, monitors systems testing, validation and functional areas approval; conducts periodic In-Process Reviews of system development progress with functional and command representatives.
• Reviews and studies regulations, directives and legislation concerning military pay and accounting and confers with representatives of other DA staff agencies, NGB, OCAR and MACOMS.
• Provides functional advice applicable to military pay and accounting functions regarding new system procedures due to changes either legislated or directed.

Starting at $57,642 Per Year (GS 9-11)

• Serves as Work Leader by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow, and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
• Incumbent processes court-ordered garnishment, commercial debt, and bankruptcy actions; process Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax levies.
• Identifies and acts on computer system/program problems involving the DJMS-AC and DJMS-RC garnishment, bankruptcy, and tax levy (GBT) system.
• Provides updates to the supervisor on work progress and identifies training needs of the team.
• Reports to supervisor on employee performance, progress, and behavior problems, and resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers other to supervisor.
• Answers all types of technical and complex correspondence and inquiries concerning active/reserve military pay that is being garnished by state courts and federal tax levies or disbursed for reasons concerning a bankruptcy.

• Reviews, examines, and resolves problems of substantial difficulty relating to discrepant Master Military Pay Accounts (MMPA's) and MMPA's that have been dropped or partially dropped due to programming deficiencies.
• Receives individual problem cases which other military pay areas cannot process utilizing normal methods due to lack of access to unique transactions or computer program problems.
• Works with systems and control analysts, programmers in examining and interpreting problems encountered in the system. Prepares recommended program changes to system accountants and policy personnel and assigns the urgency for corrective action.
• Is responsible for and may also personally accomplish research and discussions leading to documentation facts, assumptions, alternatives, conclusions and recommendations to systems accountants and policy personnel concerning the system's behavior.
• Provides the Accounting Division with allotment information so that allotment checks can be manually created and mailed for the accounts affected.
• Restores lost master military pay accounts (MMPA')s utilizing extensive knowledge of the Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS AC) and a thorough knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the military pay system.
