Job Description

THK Therapy Service Division (TS) provides occupational, physiotherapy and speech language therapy services to THKMC programs and other community organizations. TS adopts a holistic client and family-centered care approach by working with transdisciplinary or multidisciplinary professional teams, families, and other community partners. Through individual and group therapy sessions, TS addresses the various needs of clients ranging from pediatric to geriatric

• Our Senior /Occupational Therapist (OT) is directly involved in the provision of therapy services related to developing and maintaining one’s capacity throughout life, to perform tasks and roles essential to productive living including self-care, daily living, leisure and work for children and/or adults.
• Our Senior/Speech Language Therapist is directly involved in the provision of therapy services related to speech, language, swallowing/feeding, fluency and voice for the pediatric and/or adult populations.
• Our Senior/ Physiotherapist (SPT) is directly involved in the provision of therapy services related to mobility, function and independence for the pediatric and/or adult population.

All our therapists are responsible for the assessment, intervention provision, and management of caseload given.

The Physiotherapist is responsible for helping clients restore mobility, function, and independence through detailed assessments of problems, providing individualized treatment such as exercise prescription, manual therapy/facilitation, and client education as necessary.

• Assist to conduct quality improvement/research projects

Job Roles

To provide physiotherapy services to dialysis patients

Main Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients’ needs to perform targeted therapy interventions
• Prescribe assistive devices and equipment according to patients’ needs
• Collaborate with other professionals in a MDT in the treatment process
• Other daily administrative process (eg updating treatment / patient’s condition in the CRM)
• Prepare PT related budget which include tracking on resource utilisation
• Propose relevant device / equipment if required as part treatment / clinical intervention (includes seeing through the entire procurement process for new facilities set-up or purchase of equipment) 
• Develop work policies, procedures and internal controls to optimize resource and improve patients’ experience during treatment process  Work with internal and external partners to roll out a holistic care model
• Assist to lead research and/or quality improvement initiatives to improve PT service delivery
• Empower patients/caregivers/OTA in delivering therapy intervention / follow-up
• Review, manage staff performance and develop team capabilities which include OJT and/or developing in-service training programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised University with at least 5-6 years (for Snr PT), 3-4 years (for PT) of relevant experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent is required
• Membership to Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) with full or restricted practicing licence

Experience

• Candidates with prior experience in healthcare setting will have an added advantage

Soft Skills

• Possess strong organisational and problem-solving skills with good self-motivation
