What You Will Do:

The HIM Tech II will process, analyze and ensure all medical records are complete within the required time frame. Will ensure the integrity of the electronic medical records through data analysis, review and reporting. Will provide a timely response for requests of medical information according to departmental and hospital release of information guidelines.

• Ensures the integrity of the electronic medical record through analysis and review. Interacts and communicates with medical and professional staff to assist with research, audits and timely completion of medical records

We are looking to recruit a compassionate and motivated band 6 nurse to join our Cancer Information team in Dimbleby Cancer Care. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone who is interested in working within a multi-professional service delivering holistic person-centred care.

You will be expected to act as an independent clinical resource for patients, carers and other healthcare professionals who are supporting people with cancer. You will need to have a solid understanding of cancer care and have a good knowledge of support services available to cancer patients. We are ideally looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience in cancer care.

This is a direct patient facing role, offering support through our walk-in service, and via phone and email, at our site in Guy’s Cancer Centre and at our support centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup.

We are looking to develop and expand our information service to ensure that a comprehensive service is offered to both our inpatients and outpatients and identify opportunities to develop new ways of working. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider Dimbleby team to ensure an innovative service which transcends boundaries and include some interesting project work within ED&I and personalised care.

We are looking for someone who is able to work autonomously and enjoys problem-solving and thinking outside of the box with excellent communication skills.

The service provides advice on emotional, family, financial and practical concerns. The team oversees the Cancer Information Centre at Guys Cancer Centre and Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup.

The post holder will have regular and frequent contact with Dimbleby Cancer Care staff and volunteers, service and general managers, tumour specific clinical nurse specialists, clinical and medical oncology clinicians and staff, therapy radiographers, ward staff and others treating cancer patients within the Trust. In addition, there will be close contact with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as other charities and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will assist and provide support to the Deputy Director in the management processes of the department, which includes departmental goal setting, business planning, capital budgeting, strategic initiatives, feedback and learning.

General job duties:

• Supervise the Main Library and Off-site Services

• Assist in establishing and implementing proper control procedures in the section and integrate it into the hospital system plan

• Assist in reviewing, establishing and implementing health information management systems in various aspects of records management

• Assist in the planning and preparation of annual budget

• Assist in the interview of prospective employees, in staff welfare activities, in the deployment of staff and in the maintenance of staff discipline

• Provide orientation and in-service education/training to staff

• Ensure provision of complete medical records for patient outpatient visits and coordinate the transportation of medical records

• Coordinate the tracing and despatching of inactive medical records from HIMS Record Library to off-site for storage

• Coordinate the receiving of inactive medical records recalled from off-site storage.

• Assist to manage the inventory of inactive medical records stored off-site

• Implement and maintain specific procedures to ensure that records systems are managed efficiently

• Ensure the confidentiality of medical is maintained at all times

• Ensure the proper archival of records

• Coordinate provision of medical records for research

• Participate in quality service programmes and activities

• Degree in Health Information Management or any discipline, with 2 to 4 years of experience in administration and staff management

Staff Nurse (Operating Theatre)

Working Hours: Shift Work

Job Description:

• Preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available for surgical procedures
• Assisting with patient preparation before surgery, including pre-operative assessments and positioning
• Setting up and organizing surgical equipment and instrumentation according to procedural requirements
• Assisting the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies as well as anticipating their needs throughout procedures
• Providing direct patient care during surgery, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications
• Providing post-operative care and monitoring patients' recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
• 1 - 2 years of relevant experience as a Staff Nurse in an Operating Theatre setting
