Wealth Credit Management (WCM) at Citi is a newly formed business line to provide integrated end to end credit underwriting, transaction and portfolio management in partnership with all the origination businesses of the Private Bank and Wealth Management of Citi. We are looking to hire an experienced professional to contribute and perform a management role with respect to the development and implementation Loan Management Team (LMT) within Loan Product and Transaction Management in WCM.
LMT will be responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle, specifically to ensure a smooth transition of client to servicing activities and ongoing oversight of the loan lifecycle post closing. The team will service as the primary contact to the client for administrative functions and associated responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform leadership role with respect to the build and development of the NAM team of professionals to support loan serving and ongoing monitoring.
- Constantly improve processes, controls and efficiencies within the group and front to back across loan lifecycle
- Formally provide introduction to client on servicing logistics
- Manage ad-hoc servicing requests, monitor escalations and coordinate payoffs / terminations
- Monitor ongoing reconciliation reports to ensure persistent data quality and coordinate remedial actions across loan systems.
- Track and record ongoing maintenance activities associated with covenants and collateral
- Provide ongoing oversight and assist in formulating end-to-end Governance Framework inclusive of Operational KPI / KRI
- Closely partner with each of the originating products, credit risk, operations, Technology legal, etc. to implement the target support model for LMT
- Institute and ensure effectiveness of controls and processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations
- Represent LMT on various workstreams and initiatives across PBWM
- Constructively contribute to new and existing policy and regulatory requirements across Global Wealth Management workstreams and take a point of view on behalf of LMT as needed
- Lead projects and provide valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- In depth knowledge of Loan product
- Deep understanding of Loan Operations activities
- Expert in reading and interpreting complex credit agreements
- Understanding of loan accounting concepts
- Experience leading a team in supporting wholesale lending at large financial institution
- Significant understanding of process redesign / re-engineering and execution
- Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management both within the lines of business and across multiple stakeholders
- Highly developed analytical and decision-making capabilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose and execute solutions to complex problems
- Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following-up with various stakeholders and execution team
- Proven track record in establishing and maintain business line partnerships
- Track record of establishing key operating standards and KPIs/metrics with the achievement of leading team to meeting / exceeding these standards
- Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in large financial institution is a must
- Prior experience in Loan management or operations is preferred
- Proven record of working with complex credit agreements is a must
- Understanding of lending rules and regulation is a plus
- Experience with exposure and transactions reporting tools
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail
