In accordance with established policies, procedures and standards under the direction of a Director of Human Resources, is actively involved with day-to-day activities within in the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to employment administration, recruitment and selection, benefits, surveyors & managers physicals, employee relations, relocation, ex-pat administration, compensation, global performance appraisal process, merit process, employee recognition programs, HRIS, expense reimbursement and invoice processing, and training and development. May also be accountable for the training, mentoring and performance of subordinate human resources and administrative staff.
Job Duties/Roles
1. Under the direction of a Director of Human Resources, provides additional human resources information for management review and analytical purpose such as worldwide headcount reports, workforce reports, education and training reports, employee performance reports, surveys and other related HRIS reports upon request.
2. Develops, administers, interprets and communicates fundamental human resource concepts, policies, programs, practices and procedures to clients to ensure an understanding of, and uniform compliance with, HR requirements within the company. 3. Interacts with appropriate management staff to ensure that all company human resources related policies and procedures are adhered to, interpreted and complied with in a consistent manner.
4. May deliver training of Human Resources-related subject matter to HR staff and/or other employees as needed.
5. Oversees the performance appraisal/talent management process.
6. Acts as a resource for special projects and Human Resources programs, such as benefits enrollment, performance appraisals and merit increases.
7. Makes updates or changes to Human Resources policies and policy manual.
8. Updates employment and benefits forms to keep them current and in compliance with all applicable legislation.
9. Performs data entry as needed for maintaining and updating employee records in the human resources information management database in a confidential manner.
10. Responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers while maintaining a flexible and responsive approach to change.
11. May assist the Director of Human Resources with management of employee compensation, benefits plans and policies. May conduct related market surveys as needed or required.
12. Handles special projects as needed; may include EEO−1 filings and development of annual affirmative action plans in the U.S. as applicable. When needed may conduct surveys of other companies on employee related issues and report research findings.
13. Coordinates sourcing and placement of temporary/contractor staffing by working closely with agencies and management to ensure timely, cost-effective quality placements, and resolves placement issues.
14. Handles/coordinates recruiting and selection process, on-boarding of new hires, and separation or terminations of employees. Communicates all changes to Payroll, Finance, Benefits and other HR staff members as required.
15. Processes employee relocations and transfers, both domestic and international, in accordance with established transfer policies. Collaborates with the Director of International Compensation & Employee Relations regarding all international transfers and ex-pat administration.
16. Prepares annual headcount budget in conjunction with the overall budget preparation process.
17. Ensures uniform employment practices throughout the organization in compliance with government mandated policies, laws or other governing employment regulations or procedures as applicable.
18. Receives and responds to inquiries from employees and corporate/regional HR staff. May train, coach, supervise and mentor junior-level HR staff or new hires.
19. Identifies, suggests and implements ongoing process improvements.
20. Maintains an active awareness and continuing professional education of applicable HR-related legislation and initiatives.
21. Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for peek performance in assigned responsibilities.
22. Demonstrates a commitment to Total Quality Management and the process of continuous improvement; identifies problem areas or processes for improvement.
23. Performs other departmental tasks and/or participates in various projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
1. Broad technical knowledge of the laws and regulations surrounding human resources policies and practices in assigned country. For example, in the U.S., a working knowledge of governing employment regulations such as Immigrations, EEO, ADA, ADEA, and other related topics of Title VII of the Civil Rights Acts may be required.
2. Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
3. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
4. Must be able to work under constant deadlines and have the ability to handle multiple duties.
· Should possess a well-rounded temperament with the ability to handle complicated tasks under potentially stressful situations.
· Ability to receive direction and carry-out assignments from multiple members of HR and management.
5. Demonstrated desire to learn and maintain active awareness of HR trends via related training classes, seminars or other forms of study.
6. Ability to handle routine and non-routine business matters in the absence of management.
7. Strong computer proficiency skills.
8. Strong organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Needs to be familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Minimumyears of Experience
Ten (10) years previous human resources experience demonstrating progressively and increasingly complex responsibilities.
Required/Preferred EducationRequirements
College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
