To support the waiting list co-ordinators in working as part of a clinical team ensuring that patients are admitted efficiently for investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures and inpatient and day-case operations within national guidelines and in accordance with the trusts Patients Access Policy. This includes; NHS Constitution, waiting time standards; Department of Health admission guidelines and booking rules. To add, remove and modify patients to and from the waiting list as requested by the waiting list co-ordinators or in accordance with the Trusts Patient Access Policy. To book theatre lists, as dictated by the waiting list co-ordinators. As appropriate, schedule new or follow-up outpatient appointments, book pre-admission appointments, organise investigative treatments, diagnostic appointments and TCI/operation dates ensuring that patients are informed, with reasonable notice, and that all relevant paperwork is completed for given appointment. This includes ensuring that all elective attendances/admissions are promptly and accurately recorded on the appropriate PAS system(s) Provide administrative support to secretaries/waiting list coordinators/ consultants/clinical teams. To be responsible for the accurate completion of clinic letters once dictation has been received. To ensure all letters are copied to correct templates with correct patient details when received back from external typing company and send to the correct patient. To ensure all notes are traced in and out. Photo coping, filing, faxing and other administrative duties to ensure the efficient running of the office. To provide advice to patients in matters relating to admission (pre and post-operative guidance etc) and with regard to their position on the waiting list. To deal with enquiries from all service users in a helpful, courteous and diplomatic manner. To receive and process incoming mail (including electronic) as necessary, sorting and prioritising items, ensuring all clinical reports and referrals are brought to the attention of the waiting list co-ordinators/secretaries. To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. To liaise with partner organisations to assist facilitate the treatment of patients. This includes liaison with primary, secondary and tertiary care providers. To liaise with Cancer Services MDT Coordinator(s) to ensure that all patients with suspected/confirmed malignancy are treated in accordance with the updated cancer strategy. To ensure information regarding patients special needs and/or comorbidities are documented and communicated to relative wards/departments.

Shifts begin between 05.00 and 07.00, finish between 13.00 and 18.00 covering 5 out of 7 days, dependent on the role.

The main purpose of the roles are to undertake cleansing services to keep the city looking good.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. To be responsible within an identified area either solo working or as part of a team for:
2. Removing litter and emptying litter bins at regular intervals as demand indicates
3. Removing small amounts of graffiti, fly post removal, trimming or removing weed growth and cleaning public toilets or car parks, as necessary.
4. Undertaking basic condition inspections of facilities and reporting any obvious maintenance issues.
5. Identifying additional reactive work for specialist teams such as grass or hedge cutting, maintenance tasks, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, hot wash, etc.
6. To report issues adversely affecting the look and feel of the public realm such as damaged street scene or greenspace furniture and signs, fly tipping, stray dogs, abandoned cars, illegal use of council land, etc.
7. To undertake training on the safe use of equipment and safe working practices and to achieve a consistently good performance. To undertake work in a safe and effective manner at all times, following City Council policies and procedures, and to be responsible for your safety and that of the public.
8. To undertake basic recording of information, e.g. play equipment checks, timesheets, daily optimisation sheets.
9. To work flexibly across shift patterns when required to meet the demands of the service.
10. Such other duties relevant to the post and grading relating to the job description overall which may from time to time be deemed appropriate.

New staff will be trained across all sections, including car park cleaning, toilet cleaning, City Centre solo sweeping, van routes and deep cleaning so shift start times will vary. All roles have a half hour unpaid lunch break and the current pay rate is £12 per hour.
