Position Objective – Operational Discipline
1. Engaging teams in the review and streamline of key processes to improve operating efficiency
2. Propagating the benefits of Digitalization best practice within the NIPSEA Group, focusing on projects relating to and/or connected to Supply Chain and Manufacturing activities.
3. Creating Centre of Excellence for Best Practice and promoting Continuous Improvement.
4. Strengthening NIPSEA Group-wide effort on Environmental Sustainability
Duties/Responsibilities – Essential functions
1. Operational Improvement
- Compile and review all sites’ capacity, total output and cost of manufacturing. Develop methods to continuously drive performance improvement and output maximization.
- Consolidate the Supply Chain KPI performance Indicator which drives the Cost, Speed and Asset Utilization for each country and region within the NIPSEA Group.
- Lead & share best practices & formulate guidelines & policies related to Supply Chain and Operations. Relate on-site situation (through diagnosis and on-site visits) with current/future Operational requirements (e.g. Production Capacity, Quality required instruments, storage needs)
- Conduct post M&A integration activities, identify, capture and deliver supply chain related synergies to achieve long term competitive advantage.
2. Digitalization
- Understand and evaluate the objectives of NPXs’ digital transformation, checking the intention and deliverables of the implementation -
- Improve Customer experience (customer touchpoints) or fuel customer growth?
- Improve Operational processes – using digital tools to work more efficiently and improve internal processes (keep cost down and productivity up), collecting data to monitor performance and allowing management to make more strategic business decisions?
- Stay ahead of competition – transforming the business model by augmenting physical offerings with digital tools and services? using technology to facilitate shared services?
- Understand the key success factors of NPX’s digitalization roadmap (working closely with Group IT) –
- People factor – how effective Project Sponsor and Project Leader have actively supported and accelerated the transformation with due consideration to the Company (and People) culture. Determine how the new digital platform has improved the human (customer & employee) experience.
Duties/Responsibilities – Essential functions
- Communication – for NPXs’ with very successful digitalisation transformation, borrow their proven change management models and best practices in change management communication for sharing with other aspirants keen to embark on same journey.
- Setting of KPI or baseline to measure before and after – what KPIs are established to guide team towards a successful transformation.
3. Best Practice Sponsor and Champion
- Promote regular interaction of Supply Chain (SCO), Production (PROD), EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) members through the organization of conference and council meeting amongst NIPSEA Group, NP Japan and Dulux Group for idea sharing and best practice learning.
- Create a Central Library for Best Practices, Successful CIP projects, Active Green Plan projects in NIPSEA Group.
- Redesign the Cataloguing system in Wolf Lodge to consolidate group-wide CIP & Green Plan project papers (country-level projects that are implemented successfully with cost benefit or sustainable improvement).
- Promote active self-help with the new Central Library cataloguing system when Country SCO, PROD and/or EHS members face operational challenges and require new improvement initiatives. Business Excellence Team will also facilitate the best practice sharing between NPXs to help speed up the implementation process.
4. Environmental Sustainability & Safety Initiatives
- Co-ordinate and maintain a Safety & Sustainability council to promote and foster an open dialogue in exchanging best practices, risk mitigation solutions, lessons learned, compliance and conformance topics.
- Co-ordinate specific Environmental, Health & Safety (“EHS”) projects or initiatives that may transpire out of corporate strategies, targets and metrics, focused topics, common risk areas and “hot spots”.
- Advance “Whole-of-NIPSEA” movement towards Green Plan 1.0
- Main coordinator of the Group for ESG promotion activities in relation to Environmental Sustainability.
- Consolidate the Environmental KPI performance Indicator for each country and region within the NIPSEA Group. Continue to actively track Scope 1 and 2 activities and align country-level target so as to achieve NIPSEA Group target of reducing emissions intensity (for Scope 1and 2) by 15% by 2025, with a yearly reduction target of 4% from 2021 levels.
- Lead and drive the roll-out of Scope 3 activities in line with the effort undertaken by experienced counterparts from NP Japan and Dulux Group.
- Establish forward-looking action plan to manage CO2 emission with increasing production volume based on new Mid-term plan.
- Champion the environmental aspect of NIPSEA Group Sustainability Reporting on a yearly basis in close engagement with appointed Consultant.
Duties/Responsibilities – Essential functions
Secure active support from Group and Country leaders in the promotion of Safety Culture and Behaviour.
- Review Policies, Assessments Standards, Permits and Training Plan in each plant, with an emphasis on the Regulatory Compliance, Operating Procedures, Emergency Response and related Contingency plans.
- Main point of contact for all accidents, investigations, and providing expertise in Root Cause Analysis, preventive and correction plans.
- Participate in yearly Safety diagnosis activities where necessary. Work collaboratively with Safety-experts in the Group and conduct review of safety related equipment in the plant, and coordinate sourcing avenues on relevant equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Degree in Engineering, Business-related, Information System or Manufacturing-related Field.
· Candidates with more than 3 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment or service industry. Those with knowledge of operational and internal control areas, especially in the areas of process change and workflow improvement management will have a stronger edge in delivering the expectation of this role
· Meticulous, highly analytical, process-driven individual with the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Able to work both independently and as a team member.
· Good and effective communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and spoken, are required for this role, as the incumbent would need to liaise with internal stakeholders under the Group. Candidates with strong interpersonal and motivational skills will be better suited to operate in the Group’s Entrepreneurial environment.
· Computer literacy in ERP system (i.e. SAP), Microsoft Office and other business-related software will be advantageous. Basic Financial knowledge will be useful.
· Ability to travel frequently within Asia (approximately 30 - 40% of travel required).
