Using your Site practical and theory experience and knowledge, you will help students on our Eastbourne campus fulfil their potential to progress into the Site Carpentry trade. Teaching on our Level 1 and Level 2 City & Guilds Diplomas, including our large apprenticeship programme. You will provide students with the theoretical and practical skills to create top quality Site Carpentry.
You will preferably have a recognised L3 Site Carpentry qualification and vocational experience, as well as experience of teaching and a knowledge of the C&G carpentry curricula, in order to plan and deliver lessons that meet the requirements of the awarding body. You will have a genuine desire to pass on your skills and wisdom, guiding and inspiring students, motivating them to learn and demonstrate their practical skills. You’ll be able to provide real-world problems to challenge their abilities, engage in open conversations and assessment of their work and keep accurate records of progress.

If you have experience of internal verification processes and a TAQA, as well as the ability to teach other basic trade skills, such as brick, paining & decorating or plumbing that would be an advantage.

We have high expectations for all of our learners and are determined that they will exceed their aspirations. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and student focused professional to join our dynamic Inclusive Learning Team.
The post involves working with a person-centred multi-disciplinary approach to support learners who have social emotional and mental health support needs and/or learning difficulties, disabilities and Autism within our Inclusive Learning provision.

You will be passionate about inclusion and be able to deliver a range of subjects which could include Maths and English as well as employability skills, personal and social development and vocational pathways.
You will liaise and collaborate with curriculum staff to devise a curriculum which enriches the learning experience and raises the aspirations of the learners and you will support the continual development of the area by contributing to departmental planning and team meetings.

Personalised Provision Welfare Mentor (Hastings)

We are looking for a proactive team player to join our small Wellbeing team. The successful applicant will work with a caseload of students and support them in removing barriers to learning and to help them to improve their attendance. They may also be required to support with college events and assist with group work with students.

Based within the Inclusive Learning department you will be working with and supporting students with SEN on their specialist programmes and as part of the college therapy team and additional learning support dept, you will work with occupational therapists and speech and language therapists to ensure students' needs are met. This will involve delivering 1:1 session, groups and supporting in class.

The postholder will work closely with the Safeguarding Manager and the Heads of Curriculum to provide flexible support for identified students who are considered ‘at risk’ of not achieving their learning aims to increase and improve student attendance, retention, achievement and progression; and to identify and report any identified safeguarding risks with students.

Successful candidates will have experience in identifying young people’s needs and developing appropriate responses. Knowledge around safeguarding and mental health will be particularly useful for the role.
