The Science Museum Group (SMG) is the world's pre-eminent Museum devoted to the history of science, technology, industry and Medicine. With multiple sites to look after, there is always a steady stream of exciting and diverse contracts to procure.

About the role
You will deliver a the full lifecycle of tender exercises, for a wide range of goods, services and works across the full range of the SMG's activities. With this, you will be a key contributor to procurement activity supporting our ICT departments, as well as some Masterplan tenders and general corporate contract activity.

You will also assist the implementation of the procurement strategy and best practice procurement procedures. Overall, ensuring that value for money is achieved through robust, efficient, and compliant procedures.

This is a 12 month fixed term maternity cover, offering the flexibility to work from home with a hybrid working pattern, based from the National Railway Museum in York.

About you

With experience of working in accordance with public sector procurement legislation and procedures, you will have the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously and demonstrate a commitment to sustainable procurement. Diplomatic and pragmatic, you have great skills in collaborating and engaging with a range of stakeholders to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Along with experience of e-tendering, marketplace systems, and consortia frameworks, you have had exposure to Public Contracts Regulations. A CIPS qualification is desirable although not essential for this role.
