Job Description: The R&D Engineer will be central to developing new products and technologies. This role encompasses designing and developing mechanical parts, evaluating prototypes, and researching new technologies to enhance product offerings. The successful candidate will work closely with teams both locally and internationally to bring innovative solutions from concept through to mass production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Product Development:
- Design mechanical parts for new products using SolidWorks for both 3D and 2D drawings.
- Produce and evaluate prototype samples to assess product functionality and necessary improvements.
- Once designs are finalized and approved, proceed with tooling and mold fabrication.
- Evaluate tooling and molded parts to ensure they meet quality standards before giving approval for mass production use.
- Research and Innovation:
- Conduct a minimum of two research projects per year to explore new technologies or improvements to existing products.
- Research and apply reverse engineering techniques to enhance product designs.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends in the market that could be incorporated into product lines for continuous improvement.
- Project Management:
- Work collaboratively with teams across different locations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders including suppliers.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules from initiation to completion.
- Handle the costing of projects, including creating detailed cost estimations during the design stage and managing budgets.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all developed parts and products are safe to use, meet all regulatory standards, and pass all required evaluations before mass production.
- Continuously assess and refine processes and products to maintain high-quality standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Proven experience in mechanical part design, prototyping, and production processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in costing, budgeting, and financial estimation of engineering projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage cross-functional and intercultural teams.
