The incumbent will be a Nurse III Patient Safety Specialist in the Office of the Functional Champion (OFC), providing dedicated support to VA's Electronic Health Record Modernization - Integration Office (EHRM-IO), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). EHRM-IO is responsible for ensuring that VA successfully prepares for, deploys, and transitions to, a new electronic health record (EHR) system. EHRM-IO will ensure the modernized EHR system is positioned to meet VA needs, and enable seamless delivery of healthcare to Veterans and qualified beneficiaries.

The Patient Safety Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. He/she will have a significant role on behalf of OFC in patient safety planning and will continue to support these activities as the program matures. The incumbent works closely with the patient safety leadership team. Ultimately, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring a safe optimization of the modernized EHR. This position will work with Contractors, the Office of the ADUSH for Quality, Safety, and Value, and other partners to:

• Evaluate and review the EHR implementation safety processes and confer with leadership to evaluate and initiate changes.
• Will be familiar with all aspects of the Patient Safety Program including reporting, analyzing data, creating reports, education, policy changes, and promoting a culture of safety for Veterans.

• Establish methods to monitor the patient safety management process and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Collaborate with EHRM-IO leadership and safety partners to assess and improve systems of care delivery

• Proactively engage and identify Serious Safety Events (SSEs) utilizing a standardized classification system and facilitate investigation and action plan development in response to SSEs.

• Review, report, data trend, and track patient safety related events and near miss events, risks and issues

• Facilitates Root Cause Analyses for SSEs across the health system and helps lead the organization in adopting and embracing a culture of high reliability and safety.

• You will oversee the planning and assignment of work by management so work is completed based on priorities and resource capabilities.
• You will brief high ranking officials to report on inspection findings and recommendations.
• You will document problems, deficiencies, violations of laws and regulations, orders, directives, or practices for compliance with requirements.

• The Academy instructor has responsibility which requires highly specialized training, significant managerial skills, specific technical qualifications, and detailed proficiency equal to the highest nonsupervisory grade level in the field that significantly represents the occupational workforce.
• Possesses a high degree of human relations and communications skills which enables the individual to function as an agency role model for both new and current FAA employees.
• Possesses the skills to be able to understand and convert procedural requirements into overall function design of the FAA Academy's CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE to provide reliable and accurate course development and instruction. Maintains technical knowledge and currency equivalent to that of the highest level full performance specialist.
• The incumbent must have an in depth knowledge of the FAA Academy training process as it relates to the Aviation Safety Inspector work force job functions. Required to maintain a high level of proficiency in the operation of high performance aircraft used in air transportation; the effectiveness with which the branch training programs are coordinated and implemented will depend upon the aeronautical knowledge and proficiency, while maintaining expertise in commercial and/or general aviation state-of-the-art training programs.
• Provides support to the management team in the preparation and administration of the budget; coordination of staff training and travel administration; program management and planning; workload scheduling; space utilization, resource management; security; property management - accountable items; reports and records as required.

We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and talented individual to be the Supervisory Contract Specialist for OIG's Management and Planning Division (M&P). M&P provides expert consultative advice to the Inspector General and senior OIG leadership on administrative and fiscal policy, and provides direct administrative services in support of the important work performed by the OIG's nationwide workforce. This position is located in M&P's Office of Administrative Services (OAS), which provides direction and support to the varied responsibilities in the OAS portfolio including facilities management and building services, contracting and procurement, property management, voice telecommunications, transportation and parking, logistics, occupational safety programs, mail, printing, and audio visual and publications support. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing critical administrative and technical services in support of the OIG's core oversight mission. Typical work assignments include:

• Manages and directs the full range of acquisition planning, negotiations, award, modification, management/administration, and termination of contracts encompassing the full range of diverse and complex types.
• Represents OIG in a variety of duties such as the Bureau Ability One Representative, Bureau Small Business Representative and Bureau Acquisition Policy Representative.

• Serves as spokesperson for the OIG during complex contract negotiations that impact a sizeable portion of the agency's resources and is highly visible; coordinates with high level management and arranges for their participation in negotiation conferences, if necessary.

These investigations focus on a wide range of matters including health care, procurement, benefits, education, construction, and other fraud; cybercrime and identity theft; bribery, embezzlement, and conflicts of interest; drug offenses; and violent crimes. OI is staffed by special agents, forensic accountants, analysts, and other professional staff in headquarters divisions and regional field offices that use data analytics, cyber-tools, covert operations, and other strategies to detect and address conduct that poses a threat to or has harmed VA personnel, operations, and the veterans or other beneficiaries they service. The Criminal Investigator (Special Agent), located in the in Mid-Atlantic Field Office, is responsible for planning, managing, conducting, and concluding (independently, jointly, or as a team leader) complex and sensitive criminal, civil, and administrative investigations and other matters involving VA's programs and operations.

The duties of the Supervisory Criminal Investigator, include:

• Functioning as a law enforcement officer with full law enforcement authority, i.e., carrying authorized firearms and other enforcement equipment; applying for and executing arrest and search warrants; searching, apprehending, and transporting criminals and arranging for their detention.
• Managing criminal and administrative operations conducted from multiple offices in the region that provide investigative services to VA Medical Centers, Regional Offices, and other VA entities located in a number of states and encompassing multiple judicial districts.
• Ensuring subordinates are operating under the provisions of the Attorney General Guidelines for Offices of Inspector General with Statutory Law Enforcement Authority, CIGIE Quality Standards for Investigations, and other directives, rules, policy notes, and guidance
