We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer, based at our Market Drayton site. The role will work within our Process and Services department and report in to the Shift Engineering Leader. The successful candidate will conduct PM and breakdown activities on shift and help deliver World Class service in regards to process plant availability and efficiency.We operate a 24/7 facility at our sites across the UK. The shifts for this role are 4 on, 4 off rotation days and nights.

Your challenge

In this role the key responsibilities will include:


- To ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard
- To ensure all equipment is optimised to deliver efficiency targets

The Quality Technician will be responsible for managing, developing and controlling a team supporting the activities of the Manufacturing teams. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the relevant technical competencies, coupled with the ability to lead, monitor and develop a strong team. The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes comply with all current specifications.

Quality Technician Key responsibilities:

- Supporting and coaching Operational teams on key quality and hygienic principles.
- Follow a structured RCA process to define robust corrective actions across a range of factory related topics.
- Proactively promote and encourage the adoption of hygienic working practices in line with Factory Standards.

Job Summary

H Shift: 6p-6a (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday)

What a typical day looks like:

• Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
• Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause analysis, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.
• Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.
• Analyzes engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.
• Performs out of box audits (OBA) as required

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.
• Basic understanding of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FMEA and control plans
• ISO/FDA auditing experience

• Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.
• Devises, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, server systems, machine tools and measuring instruments.
• Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design, or to obtain data for development, standardization, quality control and problem resolution
• Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.
• Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.
• Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications. 
• Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required to test customer products per their specifications.
• Trains technicians and operators on products, processes and equipment.

• Typically requires an Associates degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience.

• Koh Young AOI & SPI Troubleshooting (Preferred)

• Record procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.

• Maintain software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications. 

• Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required to rework customer products per their specifications.

• Train operators on products, processes, and equipment.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Perform set-up of processing equipment.

• Minimum 2 year degree in technical field

• BGA experience preferred

• Monitor, audit and provide guidance to line operators.

• Process test runs and prepare records, charts, and graphs of results for presentation to engineering to identify yield problems or test new products.

• Provide technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel.
