Our Journey
The Occupational Therapy department at Monash Health are an integral part of the wider Allied Health and ward multidisciplinary team. We are offering 2 x full time permanent ongoing position for Grade 2’s looking to pursue their passion in subacute care. We have one position in our Neurological Stream with a particular focus on the provision of multi-disciplinary healthcare for people living with a movement disorder, particularly Parkinson’s disease.
We also have a position in our Aged Rehabilitation Stream in a fast paced generalist rehabilitation ward. This position will join Allied Health, Nursing and Medical team members in a developed aged rehabilitation ward to provide assessment, intervention and discharge planning to our patients.

A Day in the Life
You will work with patients and clients every day to enable them to improve their participation in occupations. This includes completing occupational assessments, setting goals with your clients and the multidisciplinary team and completing occupational based interventions that make a different to patient’s everyday lives.
You will work collaboratively every day with a multi-disciplinary team of allied health, nursing and medical staff. You can share ideas and support joint treatment with a fantastic group of people who are inclusive, passionate and share a vision to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families. Working across other departmental areas or streams and between Monash Health Sites also form part of this role which means you can build skills in:
a variety of clinical specialisms

forming a large support network for your skills

What you need:
Experience in providing a clinical service to patients in an inpatient setting, including but not limited to Neuro-Rehabilitation, Movement Disorders, and Aged Rehabilitation
Demonstrated skill in teaching, supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff
Basic knowledge and experience of the NDIS
