Your new company
Hays education have been approached by a primary school in Fleetwood who are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 SEN child. This role is an immediate start and has the potential to be extended through until the end of the academic year. This is an Ofsted rated 'Good' school, and they encourage every child to discover their talents and grow in confidence. Experience working with SEN children is not essential, the school are open to someone with the right approach and interest in the role.
Your new role
In your new role you will need to support a year 1 girl with ASD who is non-verbal. You will be responsible for providing 1:1 support for this child. You will need to work closely with the class teacher around differentiation of work and work closely with the child using a communication book. It is important that you liaise with the parents and SLT regarding pupil progress, so you should be able to build relationships quickly and easily. You will need to ensure the child is fully supported and progressing with their learning. If you feel you can commit to this role 5 days a week until the end of the academic year, please get in touch.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and previous experience supporting SEN children is not essential. Even if you have limited experience, we want to hear from you. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. We are looking for an Admin Assistant – Data & Exams who will:

• Manage pupil data in SIMS
• Manage the effective collection of student’s achievement and approach to learning data
• Manage the production of the reports we share with students, parents and staff
• Work effectively with staff across the school
• Work effectively with external agencies such as the DfE and FFT
• Model commitment, resilience, patience, hard work and a good sense of humour
