University College London Hospitals (UCLH) is looking for a Health Promotion Lead to join the NCL Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) team in improving lung cancer outcomes for the population of North Central London. The NCL TLHC programme has been running since November 2022 and continues to grow in preparation for transition to a lung cancer screening programme.
Reporting into the TLHC Operational Manager, the postholder will work with the TLHC team, NCL Cancer Alliance and other local stakeholders across NCL to improve participation in the programme particularly amongst communities with lower uptake. To succeed in this role, you will have experience of delivering health promotion initiatives with a particular focus on addressing inequalities. You will be organised, proactive and motivated to achieve the best outcomes for our population. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a practical mindset. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. The role is suitable for someone with a background in health promotion, public health or cancer services.



• The post holder will be responsible for directing the health promotion activities of the TLHC programme across NCL. This includes developing and delivering activities to improve participation within the programme, alongside reducing health inequalities in the eligible population.
• The postholder will support work to identify inequalities and interventions that can improve access and reduce inequalities for the target population. The role will focus on the NCL areas of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden, and Islington. Targeting lower uptake areas and population groups, ensuring up to date data is available and working with a range of stakeholders across the system.
• The post holder will be responsible for developing and ensuring delivery of the TLHC programme health promotion strategy via a mixture of outreach, training/awareness, stakeholder engagement, effective health promotion and raising health awareness to the eligible population. In many forums the postholder will be representing the mission of overcoming barriers to screening uptake in our population making specific reference to lung cancer campaigns.
• The postholder will utilise professional public health skills in the management, supervision, and delivery of the health promotion program. Coordinating activities as necessary to promote the programme to the eligible population, to help meet the objectives.

This role is set within the department of malignant haematology at UCLH with a focus on cellular therapy (including CAR-T) in accordance with JACIE accreditation standards and NHSE guidance. The T-cell Immunotherapy service at UCLH is undergoing significant expansion and the post-holder will be involved in the delivery of (1) licenced/NHSE CAR T-cell products; (2) the academic and commercial CAR T-cell trial portfolio and (3) a portfolio of TCR-transduced T-cell and Tumour Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapies for solid tumours which we hope to further cultivate and develop through the appointments.

There will be training in trial design and delivery through involvement in Tumour Management Group meetings for the academic trial portfolio alongside attendance at Site Initiation Visits for new studies. Training regarding the function of apheresis and the stem cell lab will also be provided.

The appointment will be initially for a period of 1 year with the potential for renewal on an annual basis. The roles will provide structured training in cellular therapy and it will be possible for applicants to develop a research project with a view to undertaking an MD/PhD. There will be an honorary contract with the UCL Cancer Institute for the post-holders.

Specific responsibilities will include:
• Outpatient management of patients receiving CAR-T therapy as well as providing support for patients with complications post-therapy
• Liaising with NCCP and clinical trials team to coordinate work-up and care of patients scheduled for CAR-T and other T-cell therapies therapy
• Liaising with district general hospitals to assist with cellular therapy patients
• Reviewing patients who attend on an emergency basis to the haematology day unit
• Reviewing patients in the weekly T-cell Immunotherapy clinics
• Interaction with lab teams processing translational patient samples and interface with academic trials manufacturing team.

Other potential training opportunities

Applications are invited for a Statistician/Machine learning Engineer/Data Analyst to join the fast-growing Haematology Data Science Initiative (HDSCI), which comprises two major research projects Haem-Match (www.haemmatch.org) and BloodCounts! (www.bloodcounts.org).

Candidates should have a degree or equivalent experience or qualification in Informatics or Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Systems Engineering at Bachelor level. They should also have experience of database and data warehouse design, experience of preparing detailed technical documentation, and knowledge of data modelling. Experience of managing large heterogenous datasets, experience with data analysis, hypothesis testing and algorithm evaluation essential.

The post holder will be working within the Clinical Research Informtics Unit (CRIU) which has also established collaborations with the Alan Turing Institute and Health Data Research UK, among others. This milieu will allow the post-holder to gain exposure to broad aspects of data science, both operational and research, including electronic health records, -omics, imaging, wearables, natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and information governance.

The HDSCI project, coordinated through University of Cambridge, UCLH BRC, NHS Blood and Transplant and part of a larger international collaboration, is embedded in the CRIU and the postholder will be a member of the multidisciplinary HDSCI team, which includes clinical bioinformaticians, experts in statistical genomics, blood cell immunogenicity and randomised controlled trials, clinical haematologists caring for patients with inherited anaemias, and researchers in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML).

BloodCounts! brings together a network of experts across clinical, quantitative science and corporate enterprises to apply artificial intelligence to analyse routine clinical haematology data and turn them into a broad surveillance network to detect infectious disease outbreaks without the need for any new instruments or reagents. The post holder will:
o Consolidate receive, decrypt and QC data necessary for the project.
o Apply AI&ML to Full Blood Count (FBC) results with the aim of discovering signatures of important medical conditions (e.g., viral infection [incl. SARS‑ CoV‑ 2], iron-deficiency anaemia vs thalassaemia trait, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and haemolytic uraemic syndrome, inherited haematological disorders),
o Integrate polygenic scores for blood cell traits into FBC results reports with the aim of enhancing the diagnostic value of this test, which in the UK is applied to approximately 100 million samples per year.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the internationally renowned clinical research team at the Dementia Research Centre, based within NHNN. The Centre has a long history of innovative research in dementia across a wide range of subjects, including longitudinal cohort work, multimodality deep phenotyping of rare dementias, international consortia in genetic dementias and cutting edge clinical trials in those with and at risk of dementia. The centre is currently involved in first in human studies in AD using genetic therapies, treatment trials in at risk individuals with genetic AD and with genetic FTD.

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and extremely organized person to provide study coordination and rating to enhance trial conduct at the DRC.

The post will provide experience in clinical trials and studies in multiple areas. The successful candidate will be a key member of the clinical research team and will have the opportunity to gain experience in the establishment and implementation of patient-based clinical trials.
The post will involve administering clinical and cognitive assessments to study participants and their study partners (e.g. carer), as appropriate. Post holders will be provided with appropriate training where required ensuring a high level of proficiency in performing cognitive assessments.
The post is to start as soon as possible for 1 year in the first instance.

Study coordination:
• Liaising with research participants and clinical trials teams to ensure visits are planned in accordance with study protocols
• Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth conduct of the study
• Liaising with service support departments, sponsors and clinical research organisations during set up and running of the trial
• Ensuring trial activities are invoiced for appropriately; liaising with appropriate finance officers
Conducting rating scale assessments:

Communication:

This is an exciting opportunity to join UCLH. Weekend shifts, either Saturday or Sunday, are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. When working on the wards the hours are 8.00am – 4.00pm.

The Children and Young People’s Division are looking to recruit a Front of house receptionist administrator permanent.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual who enjoys working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service. You will work collaboratively to provide full administrative services to our Paediatric & Adolescent children and young person’s department at University College London Hospital. This is a permanent full- time role with working hours of 37.5 hours a week.
The successful candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills, a high degree of empathy, diplomacy and integrity. You will be required to demonstrate sensitivity, an awareness of patients’ needs and a commitment to improving the patient experience.
As a member of our team, you will have high personal and professional standards and will seek to support those around you to deliver high quality services.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. The postholder will be responsible for the following task
•Booking in patient attending for Outpatient appointment for all paediatric and adolescent.
•Booking Follow up Outpatient appointments.
•Offer all patients who attend the department the opportunity to sign up for MyCare
•Call reminders for Patients Outpatients appointments
•Completing End of day process
•Checking eRs referrals (Gp Request)
•Booking rooms for clinical teams on Condeco system
•Updating epic reports and work queues
•Attending Theatre and Admission meetings
•Supporting Service Manager and supervisor as and when required
•Supporting 2 x ward cover
