What You Will Do:
As an Operational Effectiveness Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our federal public health clients through comprehensive strategic operational enhancements. This position demands an exceptional level of business acumen, coupled with a deep understanding of the specific challenges and regulatory frameworks in the federal and public health sectors. You will lead the way in reshaping business processes, implementing risk management frameworks, and orchestrating extensive change management initiatives. Your role encompasses a detailed analysis of existing business processes, identifying key areas suitable for significant improvements, and spearheading initiatives that enhance operational workflows, focusing on risk mitigation and boosting overall efficiency. This position goes beyond conventional process improvement; it involves transforming operations to align with strategic objectives, thus elevating service delivery standards to new heights. You will provide strategic insights and tailored recommendations to clients, lead project teams, and mentor junior staff, ensuring a sustainable and strategic impact on operational practices.
• Leading change management initiatives across various organizational levels, focusing on integrating new processes and systems seamlessly into complex business environments. This involves a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to manage transitions effectively.
• Developing and implementing strategies to enhance overall operational effectiveness. This includes not just identifying inefficiencies but also creating new operational methods that set new industry standards for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Creating and executing risk management strategies that align with both federal health regulations and sophisticated business practices. This includes evaluating potential risks and designing robust plans to mitigate these risks while ensuring compliance.
• Building and maintaining strong, enduring relationships with clients, providing high-level, business-centric solutions, and acting as a trusted advisor on complex operational challenges.
• Guiding strategies within the constraints of federal budgeting, leveraging your business acumen to ensure financial viability and strategic alignment of operational goals.
• Conducting advanced qualitative and quantitative analyses of data to inform strategic decision-making. This involves synthesizing data into actionable insights that drive organizational transformation.
• Spearheading process improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing business efficiency, transparency, and compliance with regulations. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members in developing these critical skills.
• Developing strategic plans, process workflows, and performance management tools. You will also be responsible for formulating risk mitigation strategies.
• Fostering a dynamic team culture, enhancing collaboration, mentoring junior consultants, and sharing business insights.
• Applying innovative thinking to business challenges, maintaining a position of industry leadership in operational excellence and business strategy.
• Managing extensive project responsibilities, ensuring successful strategic outcomes from initiation through to completion.
What You Will Need:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of professional experience
• 1+ years consulting or client service experience
• 1+ year experience leading or co-leading project work, including client relationships or managing project timelines
What Would Be Nice To Have:
• MBA, MHA, MPA, MPH, MPP, MA, or MS or a similar graduate degree.
• Change management, process improvement, or project management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green or Yellow Belt or CAPM).
• The ability to think strategically while also delivering results tactically. This includes a strong attention to detail and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical implementation.
• Experience working effectively in fast-paced and dynamic environments, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
• Experience in performing data analysis and leveraging findings to recommend and implement improvements. This involves not only gathering and analyzing data but also applying insights in a practical context.
• Experience developing new processes and redesigning existing ones to meet evolving business requirements. This shows an ability to innovate and adapt processes to changing needs.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and effective communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels within an organization. This includes the skill to develop visually appealing and impactful communication materials.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team. Understanding the importance of team roles and dynamics, and actively contributing to a positive working environment.
• Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Skilled in researching and analyzing relevant client, industry, and technical matters, and applying problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
During this interview you will complete a case study that will be presented verbally by the interviewer. You will be asked to respond to a series of scenarios.
