Monitor, scrutinise and project manage the development, content and implementation of a range policies and procedures within areas of compliance, Facilities Strategic Delivery plan, health and safety, standards and performance relevant to, and for, the Facilities Directorate. Ensure that the means of Facilities compliance delivery is regularly reviewed and develop appropriate recommendations on appropriate strategies to deliver optimum performance. Be required to analyse, interpret, and resolve highly complex statistical and information problems in relation to compliance facets across all Facilities services. These may require innovative and new ways of delivering services which may conflict with traditional thinking and opinions. To actively review a wide range of departmental practices to confirm they remain appropriate and where identified introduce modifications to deliver performance/compliance/financial/service benefits.

We have a great opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the VolkerStevin team. You will be responsible for ensuring sites and departments are in compliance with company procedures, carry out audits and inspections in line with management system requirements, provide support to the site teams and the wider business, be an active part of supporting key initiatives and supporting business development and continual improvement.

This will be a roving role covering projects in the North West region (and other parts of the country as required).

About you

• Carry out site audits and inspections and departmental audits to meet, as a minimum, the requirements of the management system in addition to supplier audits as required.
• Support third party and supply chain audit requirements where requested.
• Provide reports on assurance and compliance with the management systems and performance against client requirements and audits, inspections and NCRS.
• Provide support to the sites, providing guidance, and supporting site activities, such as initiatives and other continual improvement projects.
• Applicant will require security clearance and be a British national.
• Support key project level challenges and developments.

Quality Manager – Food Manufacturing

We are proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading ambient cake manufacturers who supply their products to leading retailers and export partners.

They are currently recruiting a Quality Manager to lead a quality assurance team to verify that all materials including finished products are safe and conform to all relevant specifications, legislation and customer requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at the Shadsworth and Blackburn bakeries.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a technically minded individual with experience working within a quality role from a food manufacturing background, ideally bakery.

You’ll have experience in ensuring that all materials including finished products are safe and conform to all relevant specifications, legislation and customer requirements.

It would be highly advantageous if you have a food-related degree as well as experience of retailer & BRC audits.

Previous experience managing people/shift patterns would also be advantageous as you will be responsible for a team of 6 (4x quality auditors, 2x raw materials quality auditors).

The role of Quality Manager

· Management of the QA team to ensure coverage across all shifts as required.

· Complete audits and monitor the consistency of outputs across the team for compliance purposes.

· Complete KPIs and monitor the consistency of outputs across the team for compliance purposes.

· Training the team to ensure that new processes and procedures are adopted.

· Building production team capability to improve communication and understanding of technical standards.

· Investigating customer complaints or any non-conformance raised internally or externally to provide data which informs resolution.

· Organises organoleptic panels to ensure consistent quality.

· Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the SHE policy.
