Role Overview: The Electrical Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and managing the engineering team, ensuring the effective deployment of resources to handle machine breakdowns promptly while also overseeing planned maintenance activities and addressing emergent issues. The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced technician to cover a period of maternity leave for 12 months, predominantly to support our Palaeoclimate, Image and Geochemistry research laboratories.

You will be responsible for:
the operational management of these research lab areas- carrying out lab inductions, training staff and students in technical and clean lab procedures, maintaining stock levels, servicing, and operating analytical equipment; overseeing lab safety, assessing risk, and encouraging sustainable lab practices.

The Role and Department     

The Trainee Technician role supports the Department of Psychology in delivering internationally excellent teaching and research by providing specialist services within the scientific environment. This includes completion of checklists to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and will support a variety of technical functions. Job Summary: The Enhanced Care in Care Homes Pharmacy Technician will support the Darlington PCN Pharmacy Hub by working with the pharmacy team and GP practices to deliver a programme of medicines optimisation and reconciliation from hospital discharge and other secondary care communications. The Quality Technician will be required to ensure that appropriate systems and checks are in place to ensure components, sub-assemblies and other manufactured or processed items comply with customer requirements. You will establish inspection and / or test requirements from the production card / quality plan / drawing / specification or Quality Engineer for items manufactured / processed in house and sub-contracted / purchased items. Verify if items comply with customers' requirements by reference to appropriate documentation and use of appropriate measuring / test equipment and visual techniques. Raise DAR's (internal) and CAR's (supplier) against non-conformances identified and ensure that all non-conformances are reported with the minimum of delay in order to reduce potential scrap / rework.
