Due to an increasing workload, RPS is seeking to recruit a Senior Ecologist to join our Planning & Environmental team. The post will be based in our Belfast office, but duties may require travelling throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Planning and Environmental team within RPS has been involved in a wide range of projects from small scale housing developments up to major road schemes and infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing
Writing and reporting findings
Communicating effectively with team and clients.
Liaising with other members of the RPS Planning & Environmental Team to deliver an effective service to our clients
Supporting Director in business development activities
Input into the production of reports for planning applications and marine license applications or equivalent
Production of feasibility reports
Assistance towards the coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams
Field visits and surveys
Research and analysis
Community and stakeholder consultation
Who we’re looking for:
Experienced in Phase 1 Habitat Surveys; Bat Surveys; Mammal Surveys
Capable of taking projects from concept to completion
Ability to interpret construction/design plans and drawings and understand how these manifest physically.
Able to work on own initiative and under pressure.
Competent in the use of GIS and Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Knowledge of UK and or Irish environmental policy and legislation.
Interest in all aspects of Ecology.
Ability to deliver ecological solutions, and successfully manage time to meet project deadlines.
A hard working and highly motivated individual with excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
Client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach with a high level of commitment towards the job.
Full current driving license and access to a form of transport to travel to various sites to carry out the duties of the post.
Qualifications:
Degree level qualification in Ecological related subject (minimum 2:1 preferred)
CIEEM or equivalent qualification
