About the Role:
Altus Education Partnership is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of SEND to provide strategic leadership across our academies. This pivotal role is essential in ensuring that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive an outstanding education, have their needs met, and achieve their full potential.
As the Director of SEND, you will work closely with academy leaders, SENDCos, and staff to develop, implement, and monitor robust strategies for SEND provision across the Trust. You will be a key advocate for inclusive education, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and promoting best practice to create a supportive environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and coordination of SEND provision across the academies in the Trust.
- Ensure the identification and support for pupils with SEND is effective and aligned with the Trust’s strategic goals.
- Provide leadership in ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their additional needs, have access to high-quality education.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
- Collaborate with academy leaders to develop and implement improvement plans for SEND provision.
- Offer guidance and support to SENDCos and staff, ensuring that they have the resources and training needed to meet the needs of SEND pupils.
- Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, parents, carers, and other educational partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of SEND provision and drive continuous improvement across the academies.
- Lead the Trust’s SEND learning faculty, supporting professional development and training for staff.
About the Trust:
Formed in 2017 from Rochdale Sixth Form College, Altus Education Partnership aims to enhance education in the Rochdale borough. The Trust currently comprises four academies:
