This position serves as the Assistant Medical Center Director located at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), VA Medical Center (VAMC). The Assistant Medical Center Director exercises line authority for multiple administrative and allied health services and sections and is directly responsible for facility operations.

The Assistant Director shares with the Executive Leadership Team a level of responsibility for the direction and management of the Medical Center and is directly responsible for facilities operations. The Assistant Director plans, coordinates, supervises, and directs various administrative and health related services. The Assistant Director participates on a day-to-day basis in top level Executive discussions, decisions, policy making and actions of all administrative functions and indirectly of all clinical matters impacting patient care.

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Budget and Fiscal Management for the facility services assigned such as resource management and FTEE control within the assigned services.
• Oversees the management of administrative services supporting assigned operations.
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of government and agency systems and an acute awareness of all elements of resources as they related to the cost of healthcare operations.
• Serves as fiscal advisor to the medical center Director in preparing formal budget submissions for approval.
• Exercises full line authority for multiple administrative functions (services and sections) and indirectly for all clinical matters affecting patient care.
• Delegates authority and holds managers under his/her oversight responsible and accountable for the performance of their service lines, programs, and human capital requirements.
• Hearing and resolving appropriate complaints and grievances.
• Represents the healthcare system by establishing and maintaining community partnerships, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Promoting the understanding of the health care delivery system's mission within the local community and proactively advising both of benefit and/or hospital changes and information.
• Exercises authority for establishing priorities for healthcare operations and allocating available resources accordingly.
• Works with Service Chiefs in the formulation of budgets for their respective services
• Conducts internal systematic reviews; and serves as an essential capacity for developing and coordinating internal measures to assure that both clinical and administrative operations are in within governing standards.

The Associate Regional Director, under the immediate supervision of the Regional Director, plans and establishes staffing needs, work streams and policy for the Broker Dealer Examination Program of the Division of Examinations in the Chicago Regional Office (CHRO) and directs, coordinates, controls, and evaluates the performance in this area. The BDX examination program is responsible for conducting exams of broker-dealers, exchanges, clearing agencies, transfer agents, municipal advisors, municipal securities dealers, security-based swaps dealers, funding portals, investment advisors and/or investment companies.

Typical duties include:

• Collaborating with headquarters, other regional offices and appropriate divisions in determining national and regional examination priorities.
• Developing and leading national and regional initiatives and priority examinations.
• Triaging market events to determine impact to registrants and securities markets more broadly, and coordinating with headquarters and other regions about an appropriate response.
• Interacting with the examination staff and registrants on complex and novel issues identified on examinations.
• Informing and interacting with the policy divisions, including on novel and complex issues identified during examinations, that affect interpretations or guidance of Commission rules and regulations.
• In conjunction with headquarters staff, planning and evaluating the overall program of the Region with respect to compliance/examinations matters.
• Ensuring that the overall compliance and examination activities are carried out consistent with overall Commission and Division guidelines and priorities.

This position is located in the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). DSCA is responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and supervising Department of Defense (DOD) programs for transfer of defense articles, services, and technology, by sale or grant to foreign governments and international organizations.

As the Deputy Director- DSCA, your duties will include:

The Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) is a VISN-based repository of clinical and administrative staff that serve Veterans Affairs facilities within and outside of a Veterans Integrated System Network (VISN). Staff within the CRH are expected to provide inter-professional services to VISN facilities that are underserved or experiencing gaps in clinicians due to the inability to match provider supply with demand. Services provided by CRH staff are conducted via multiple modalities, including virtual and in-person care. Position is Telework Eligible.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Develops policies and guidelines related to the practice and administration of CRH Tele-Pain Medicine.
• Oversees the administration of telehealth pain medicine and opioid safety review board electronic consultation services.
• Member of the local, regional and National Pain Management Committees.
• Reviews and reports to CRH leadership team regarding Opioid Safety Updates and collaborates with CRH Service Line Chiefs to address Opioid Safety Initiatives.
• Coordinates with the Service Line Chief to ensure that Telehealth equipment and supplies that are necessary for the efficient operation of the Tele-Pain Medicine Section are acquired and maintained per VA standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with Chiefs of Nursing Service Line, Mental Health Service Line, Rehab Services Service Line, Pharmacy Service Line and Social Work Service Line for respective Tele-Pain staff members.
• Completes performance evaluations of subordinate staff per VA standards and policies.
• Responsible for conducting professional practice evaluations with providers to assess their performance, identify when performance does not meet expectations, and initiate appropriate action to improve performance.
• Collaborates with the Service Line Chief to develop yearly Tele-Pain Medicine Section budget projections.
• Generates written responses to Tele-Pain management and opioid safety-related, veteran complaints, Congressional and White House inquiries per VHA protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Provides telehealth, face to face evaluations, and interventional pain medicine procedures in designated VA facilities as part of a balanced, data­ driven, multi-disciplinary treatment plan, in accordance to current licensing and standards of care.
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary team of pain management providers.
• Initiates, modifies, or discontinues medication therapies and serves as a consultant for intensive medication therapy management services.
• Orders, performs, reviews, and analyzes appropriate laboratory tests, other diagnostic studies, and registries necessary to monitor and support medication therapy.
• Performs pain management comprehensive assessments, develops treatment plans and performs interventions for complex acute and chronic pain patients.
• Manages opioid medications and performs opioid tapers and detoxification when necessary.
• Complies with current VA/DOD Long-term Opioid Therapy Guidelines, and local VA policies.
• Develops therapeutic care plans that are intended to achieve defined outcomes that improve the patient's quality of life.
• Orders, performs, reviews, and analyzes appropriate laboratory tests, other diagnostic studies, and registries necessary to monitor and support medication therapy.
• Follows up with patients regarding laboratory or other diagnostic test results to discuss care plans, changes to therapy and additional monitoring or testing requirements.
