Hounslow Talking Therapies are recruiting for several Trainee High Intensity CBT Therapist:



· One-year paid fixed-term training contract

· Starting in March 2025

· On average three days working within Hounslow Talking Therapies and two days at university (PGDip – Royal Holloway, UoL)

• This is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies Programme
• This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) assessments and NICE-recommended CBT treatment to people presenting with moderate to severe depression and anxiety for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. Appointments take place in person, via video, or via telephone.
• To work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, being committed to equal opportunities
• To provide advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers
• To work one evening shift a week (12-8pm) – as we are passionate about engaging all groups of our community, we operate evening clinics (up until 8pm) Monday - Thursday
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures



To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service

We have an exciting opportunity to join our CAMHS teams as a Recruit to Train Trainee / Trainee CBT Practitioner (1 year fixed term), as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Recruit to Train Programme in partnership with Anna Freud, University College London, and Kings College London.

We are recruiting up to eight trainees across West London CAMHS. The post-holders will be training on the Children & Young People Mental Health Therapy Course and carrying out clinical work in our service to complement their studies and use their newly developed skills. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work and train within our service.

This is a training position and so all candidates will usually need to apply for both the trainee role with our organisation and the UCL Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Young Person IAPT Therapy in order to be shortlisted. You will offer a high-quality service to young people, families / carers,alongside working effectively with your colleagues and liaising with other professionals in the network. CYP-IAPT training will enable you to deliver - under intensive supervision - high quality, focused evidence-based CBT interventions for children and young people experiencing moderate mental health difficulties (e.g. low mood and anxiety). This in turn will equip those in post to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven mental health service. The roles will be exciting and varied, including individual and group working in a CAMHS setting, enabling the post holders to develop a range of skills and experience whilst studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Child & Young Person IAPT Therapy (CBT; PGDip).
