Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Audits: Conduct audits across England and follow up remotely to assess financial performance and compliance.
* Audit Compliance: Perform audits in line with agreed schedules, ensuring adherence to financial policies and practices.
* Transaction Auditing: Review cash funds and accurately record transactions to ensure financial transparency.
* Fraud Detection: Investigate and report any suspected instances of fraud or financial mismanagement.
* Training & Development: Deliver national training sessions to staff, helping to promote financial best practices.
* Collaboration: Work closely with Head Office to review financial practices and ensure organisational compliance.

Ideal Candidate:

You'll need:
* Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication skills, particularly over the phone.
* Reporting Ability: Experience in producing clear and concise written reports.
* Numeracy Skills: Strong attention to detail, with excellent numeracy and analytical abilities.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Experience: Experience with data analysis and audits is beneficial but not essential.
* Driving Licence: A full driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
* Educational Background: A good general education. Relevant qualifications in finance or auditing are advantageous but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson values

• Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible

• Dealing with lapsed accounts

• Generating sales with new and existing customers

• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey

Your new role
This role reports into the Head of Internal Controls, where you will work alongside the controls team to develop and enhance the internal audit program. This role will include significant exposure to the Group CFO and the Group Finance Leadership Team as well as other critical stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Build strong partnerships and relationships with internal stakeholders and be influential in producing an audit program into the organisation.
• Communicate with senior leadership and the wider finance team to help promote the internal audit plan.
• Concisely report back findings to stakeholders, setting out recommendations for improvement and streamlining.
• Prioritise your own audit agenda, along with assisting with the management of a risk strategy.
• Where appropriate, advise and work on future acquisitions made by the group.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will:

• Have a relevant degree or professional qualification within internal audit, risk or accounting, such as IIA, IRM, ACA.
• A proven track record of implementing and testing controls.
• Experience of working within a large and complex business, whilst communicating with wider stakeholders.
• Have a good understanding of technology and systems
