We are looking to recruit two Community Phlebotomist to expand our team working in the Community across Penzance and Bodmin hospitals. This position will be based at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance.
The role is ideally suited for someone who is looking for a new challenging role.
Key duties and responsibilities
Working at Community diagnostic hubs in Cornwall and outreach clinics to take venous blood samples from patients as requested by a doctor or a member of the nursing staff and in accordance with written procedures.
To ensure that your responsibilities for the prevention of infection control are fulfilled by following all Trust policies, guidelines, and protocols.
To arrange delivery to the appropriate laboratories according to current Pathology policy.
To undertake first line tests on blood samples in accordance with written procedures.
To respect patient Confidentiality and Dignity.
At all times to work in accordance with the procedures and policies of the Trust, in particular Clinical Skills training package (Practice development) and Health and Safety.
To relate to the Lead Phlebotomist on a regular basis to keep up to date and receive regular training.
To provide sickness and holiday cover when needed at RCHT or Bodmin Community Hospital.
