Job Description
To provide clerical/administrative assistance in the provision of a Registration service within the Moray Registration Service.
Requirements
Provide support to the Registration Team within the Elgin Registration Office.
Undertake the appropriate administrative and clerical functions associated with the Registration and burial records processes.
Responsibilities
Experience in an administrative / clerical role.
Experience of using software package such as Mircosoft Word and Excel.
Experience of dealing with the public in a customer facing role.
Experience of cash handling.
4 SQA standard grades or equivalent at level 3 or above, including English and Maths.*
Must be able to deal with the public, in a professional and courteous manner.
Be able to work as part of a team.
Self motivated, diplomatic and able to plan and prioritise workload.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with particularly sensitive issues e.g. death registrations and be able to obtain the correct information from people in emotional circumstances.
Able to use own initiative and work unsupervised
Able to work with high accuracy and a keen eye for detail
Able to write clearly and accurately
Organised and methodical
Flexible approach to work and willingness to be involved in a variety of tasks
Ability to liaise with professionals and other business users of the registration service Adaptable to change
Welcoming, non-judgemental and reassuring approach to clients.
Be able to deal tactfully and discreetly with members of the public from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
Willingness to offer emotional support if required.
Be patient , helpful and show empathy.
