Meaningful Work From Day One
This position will support the Finance Manager as a key member and business partner of the Global Travel Retail (GTR) Americas team, which includes Americas Travel Retail, Transportation, and Military. You will provide
financial support, reporting, planning and insights to aid commercial decision making and strategic direction. This will include development and management of trackers and reports, various financial, consumer, and P&L analyses, and other ad hoc support.
Accounts include complex, multi-market, multi-channel retailers in the Americas including Ship Chandlers (Cruise Ships), UETA, 3Sixty, Transportation (Airlines) and others, as well as the US Military. These businesses include Airport D.F., Border Shops D.F., Ship Chandlers (Cruise Ships), and Military.
What You Can Expect
Commercial Support and Analytical Insight
Support commercial team with analytics and insights for the region to guide commercial decision making.
Support the Finance Manager in evaluating and measuring progress toward the long-term strategic vision outlined in the 2030 strategic plans.
Provide tools to commercial teams, including financial support for agreements/contracts, pricing strategies, promotion strategies, customer profitability assessments, and competitive trends.
Assist Finance Manager in preparing analysis for presentations for customer negotiations, performance reviews, and other strategic projects.
Financial Planning and Analysis and Reporting
Update charts and slides for the MBR/QBR decks, incorporating impactful visuals and content to facilitate compelling business story-telling around performance
Provide meaningful analysis and commentary that drives insights on business performance. Types of analysis may include profitability analysis, margin enhancement, variance analysis, pricing effectiveness, cost management and measuring promotional effectiveness.
Maintain trackers and planners for A&P and Discounts, working with the team to ensure spend is within budgeted amounts.
Interpret and ensure accuracy of financial statements, working with the accounting team to develop accruals, JEs, pricing approvals and manage queries.
Support Finance Manager in developing quarterly forecasts, annual targets and strategic long-term planning. Be able to understand and challenge key assumptions and assess risks.
Other
Provide ad hoc support on special projects (by their nature it is difficult to define these projects as they will be driven by requirements that change).
Support Finance Manager in reviewing and implementing RGM initiatives
Liaise with Accounting function to ensure proper recording of JEs & accruals, and ensure books are kept in accordance with local & US GAAP. Collaborate with that team to ensure efficiency in processes.
Submit depletion data on a monthly basis for applicable markets.
What You Bring to the Table
College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or Certifications: CPA/Chartered Accountant
3-5 years of relevant business experience
Strong financial analytic capability with a demonstrated ability to influence sound business decisions
Proactive self-starter with the intellectual curiosity to seek relevant questions to be answered
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly discuss business issues and translate into financial and strategic implications and actionable plans
Team contributor who puts success of the team ahead of personal ambitions
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of business associates across multiple geographic locations
Ability to independently plan and prioritize multiple diverse work projects and work outside of normal work hours to meet deadlines and manage time zone differences
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of various software packages, particularly Microsoft Excel, SAP, BW, Google, Tableau
Ability to travel, approximately 10% - 15%
Fluency in English language
