We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Shift Supervisor to join our team in the rendering department.
Job Description: The Maintenance Shift Supervisor in the rendering department at Tyson Foods is responsible for leading and supervising the maintenance team during assigned shifts to ensure the reliability and efficiency of equipment and facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in maintenance processes, and proficiency in using software systems such as SAP Time and Attendance, Workday, and Microsoft Office for workforce management and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead the maintenance team during assigned shifts, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, and evaluating performance. Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the timely completion of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair tasks, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. Utilize SAP Time and Attendance and other software systems to manage workforce scheduling, track employee attendance, and approve time-off requests. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance activities, address equipment issues, and support operational requirements. Monitor equipment performance and reliability, analyzing data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and implementing preventive measures to reduce downtime. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and maintenance work areas, identifying maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement. Implement and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations in all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Generate reports and analyze maintenance data using Microsoft Office applications, Workday, and other software systems, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Communicate effectively with other departments, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to coordinate activities, address maintenance-related issues, and support plant operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance leadership or supervisory roles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate teams, drive performance improvements, and resolve conflicts effectively. Proficiency in using SAP Time and Attendance, Workday, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to manage workforce scheduling, track attendance, and analyze data. Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues effectively. Knowledge of maintenance processes, reliability principles, and predictive maintenance techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support maintenance schedules and operational requirements.
