As part of the Fraud Analytics, Modeling & Intelligence organization, this role manages and executes the fraud analytics and strategies supporting Citi’s North American and global credit card and retail bank businesses. This includes leveraging data to identify fraud trends then designing and implementing strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud attacks across the full fraud lifecycle including application and synthetic ID fraud, account takeover, and sophisticated new attack schemes.

This role partners closely with Fraud Policy, Operations and various partners to keep apprised of business and technology direction to determine potential and existing fraud impacts.

This role also may also have direct or indirect management responsibility of team members.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage analytics to identify enhancement opportunities and more granular insights that can be acted upon, while ensuring adherence to Fraud Policy.
• Ownership and management of fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies, Risk appetite execution, POS interdiction strategies and defect analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategy recommendations based on data and trend analysis, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Build effective relationships within and outside the Fraud organization to help ensure successful and timely execution of key portfolio priorities.
• Generate and manage regular and ad-hoc reporting to enable effective monitoring and identification of emerging trends.
• Continually assess manual and automated processes to identify potential process gaps and opportunities.
• Build effective relationships within and outside the Fraud organization to help ensure successful and timely execution of key portfolio priorities.
• Prioritize and provide a clear line of sight to the most critical work to partners and team members.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, or other analytical or quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years experience in analytics and modeling or relevant area.
• Extensive experience working with:
• Big Data environment with hands on coding experience within various traditional (SAS, SQL, etc.) and/or open source (i.e. Python, Impala, Hive, etc.) tools.
• Traditional and advanced machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting, Random Forests, etc.
• Data visualization tools, such as Tableau
• Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis.
• Ability to build effective presentations to communicate analytical findings to a wide array of audiences.
• Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder engagement and management, with ability to effectively drive collaboration across teams.
• Ability to make decisions independently with minimal guidance from management.

About the Role

Provide financial leadership and support for portfolio within the Cit Retail Services business.  Primary portfolio that will be supported is a long standing Franchise Partner relationship with >$6B in assets.  The role is responsible for providing financial analysis, partnering with external client and multiple functions within Citi. Key leader in the ongoing development and evaluation of partner program strategies to drive profitable program assets, while optimizing Citi’s capital and operating efficiency through insightful analysis.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead Analyst is a senior professional role responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi’s current and projected performance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee key financial processes, deliver insight and support to cross-functional leadership team to deliver on goals for portfolios and as part of larger RS Finance team.
• Support analysis and modeling for portfolio transformation activities to drive product, channel, and promotion specific profitability at portfolio level; make recommendations that balance growth/volume and returns.
• Develop, review and approve all promotional pricing, marketing spend, program investment and partner subsidies, as well as support focus on driving on line/digital growth and servicing.
• Ensure financial transactions with the partner are in compliance with contract.
• Work closely with Citi Accounting Policy and Controllers function on accounting requirements for all aspects of partner agreements, changes, settlement, etc.
• Create financial reports to clearly summarize financial trends and provide insight to senior management
• Prepare analytics in support of business reviews, including business initiatives
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of relevant experience as a financial analyst preferrable within a financial institution or banking environment
• Proficient computer skills with a focus working with database and financial reporting platforms and Microsoft Office applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
