The Firearms Specialist provides a Dress Blue Experience and executes departmental procedures and follows all firearms regulations. Reports to the Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Operations Manager or Store Manager.

Focuses on delivering a best-in-class customer experience and driving strong customer engagement with the firearms department.  Focuses on solution-based selling, offering applicable accessories and services to the customer in addition to the firearm.  Required to strictly adhere to all governing bodies¿ processes/requirements including but not limited to: ATF, FFL, DOD, Marine Corps, State, Corporate and local command for selling, handling, receiving, transferring, inventory management, and records management for all weapons and ammunitions.

Communicates with management to support customer inventory requests and general business needs.  Uses exception reporting to identify merchandise categories requiring corrective action to protect sales and customer service levels. Follows the special-order process according to standard processes. Supports advertisement and promotional set up requirements including, merchandising, signing, pricing and other tasks as needed. 

Must be flexible to support the operations of the building/command they work in.   Will actively engage with Sales Managers on all departmental operations including ensuring RIMA (Retail Inventory Management Application) scans are completed and follow through is executed to include inventory adjustments when necessary. Supports and participates year-end inventory planning, execution and researching variance reports.  

Will be asked to support store operations in areas of POGs (Planograms), replenishing the sales floor, managing on hand integrity, receiving of products, backroom organization, customer program engagement, cash register duties and other operational tasks both within and outside of the assigned department. The Sales Associate is responsible for providing all Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) customers with world class customer service with an additional emphasis on courtesy. Sales associates are the primary service providers and will assist customers in every aspect of the retail business in a friendly, professional, and proactive manner that supports continued customer loyalty. Sales associates assist their customers in challenging scenarios by using an "I can do that" mindset, to make all attempts for a positive customer experience and outcomes, before asking for support from the next level mentor or supervisor. Sales associates are brand and customer program ambassadors for all Marine Corps and MCX programs, including but not limited to, Military Star, Super Star Student, customer satisfaction surveys and Keep it New.

This position can be scheduled throughout the facility, based on the needs of the business including but not limited to, cashier or self-checkout attendant, customer service, salesfloor / department support, stockroom / backroom, and military clothing.  In addition to working indoors, associates may be required to work outdoors or inside coolers and/or chillers. Limited time durations and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided when working inside coolers and/or chillers. Sales associates who are regularly scheduled in areas are expected to learn basic product knowledge to support customer satisfaction and service.

About the Opportuity:
The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) – Magnetic Resonance is responsible for all sales actives in his/her territory for the Magnetic Resonance portfolio and is charged with the responsibility of meeting or exceeding all assigned Oxford Instruments (OI) Sales Targets. The TSM will serve as the primary point of contact for existing and potential new customers as well for Oxford Instruments distributors (where appropriate) throughout the sales process. This individual will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to build territory action plans which will provide a clear path to sales success as well as partner with Service, Marketing, Applications, and numerous other Oxford Business Unit sales reps in this pursuit.

In addition, the TSM is required to properly manage CRM ensuring all required fields are completed, the information is current and up to date, and sales funnel information (such as close dates and dollars) is accurate. Additionally, the TSM will travel as needed, both within and outside of the assigned territory
- including internationally, to attend various meetings, trainings, tradeshows, and conventions. Territory includes all states west of the Mississippi River.

About the Candidate:
The right candidate for this position will have Bachelors in the Materials Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or other relevant area preferred; 3-5 years Sales experience in the scientific space, In depth experience of relevant technologies, customers, and markets; Ability to travel approximately 75% time, including occasional international travel; and NMR experience is strongly preferred.

In addition, the TSM is required to properly manage CRM ensuring all required fields are completed, the information is current and up to date, and sales funnel information (such as close dates and dollars) is accurate. The TSM will travel as needed, both within and outside of the assigned territory
- including internationally, to attend various meetings, trainings, tradeshows, and conventions.Key Responsibilities:

- Vigorously focus on hunting activities and the identification of new sales opportunities.
- Develop a strong working relationship will all distributor partners in assigned territory.
- Regularly travel to meet with potential and existing customers as well as participate in installations.
- Actively monitor local industry trends and competitor activity to enable proactive development of strategies to exploit opportunities and circumvent threats.
- Develop strategic relationships with various 3rd party companies/groups to create new opportunities.
- Prospect various funding agency, government, association, and customer websites for recently awarded grants and awards.
- Prospect webpages, LinkedIn, associations, etc. to identify potential new customers.
- Daily updates to the CRM system to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
- Ongoing relationship management with existing customers.
- Proactively monitor funnel ensuring ample opportunity exist to meet sales targets.
- Accurately forecast orders at the specific opportunity and month level.
- Attend various trade shows and conventions as well as internal and external sales meeting as required.
- Utilize video conferencing, remote demonstrations, etc. whenever possible to advance opportunities.
- Actively seek out collaboration opportunities with OI Product Centers sales channels beyond the one(s) they serve directly.
- Utilize a value selling sales approach to fully leverage all OI has to offer to win sales with minimal discounting.
- Maintain expert level technical knowledge for the Raman and AFM portfolio of products.
- Maintain a high degree of collaboration with Application and Service as well as participate in numerous installations and customer trainings.
- Diligently manage expenses and travel planning to minimize operation expenses.
- Other responsibilities and duties upon request.
Education / Qualifications:

- Bachelors in the Materials Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or other relevant area preferred.
- 3-5 years Sales experience in the scientific space.
- In depth experience of relevant technologies, customers, and markets.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% time, including occasional international travel.
Professional Skills/ Abilities:
Raman and/or AFM experience is strongly preferred.

- Possess a strong sense of urgency.
- Miller Heiman sales training preferred
- Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of, and successful track record in, technical sales.
- Possesses a professional network and toolset enabling immediate results.
- Experience developing and implementing territory specific sales strategies to achieve goals.
- Scientific background or knowledge of the scientific market.
- Extensive experience with CRM platforms. Preferably SAP CRM.
- Ability to give sales presentations and share technical information in an easy to understand format.
- Ability to communicate and operate as a team cross-functionally with sales, service, Applications, and other departments.
- Highly developed commercial understanding.
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

- Desire and capability to, work well in a team environment
- Highly organized with a strong affinity for detail
- Excellent communication skills in various formats (verbal, ppt, excel, etc.)
- Willing and able to travel domestically and overseas as required without restriction, subject to normal visa requirements

Salary: In accordance with California law, the expected annual base salary range for this position is between $105,000
- $115,000. This position is elegible for commission in addition to the base salary. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
