This is a newly created and crucial joint role, working across GSTT and KCH as Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), and represents the next step in our joint working as we seek to realise the full benefits of our shared deployment of EPIC. The CDIO is responsible for developing and delivering the Digital Strategy for the two organisations and building teams to deliver. In addition to bringing their particular subject expertise to the role, the CDIO is expected to play an active role in driving the strategic aims of the joint EPIC implementation, supporting stabilisation, optimisation and transformation, acting at all times in the interests of the Trusts, patients, staff and stakeholders

You will be responsible for the day to day live operation of technical and operational services delivered to Trust staff and patients across all four major acute hospital sites, community and satellite sites, leading teams covering infrastructure services including network, physical infrastructure and telephony, service management and service desk, end user technology, architecture, applications Management and AV/VC services, information security and risk.
To be successful in the role you will be expert in the data, technology and information agenda, with comprehensive transformation or organisational design experience in large complex organisations, preferably in a health care or health service environment. You be both comfortable and credible working in complex political and clinical environments, and will have highly developed knowledge and understanding of the changing NHS environment, strategy, and policy agendas. You will have extensive experience of providing specialist advice to very senior managers, up to and including Board Directors which may materially affect strategic decision making. This will include advising a range of professionals and specialists in a range of environments. You will be educated to Masters level, holding a formal qualification in a technology or services discipline, with additional in depth professional training and specialist knowledge to doctorate or equivalent level, acquired through training and experience over an extended period.

Establish digital technology as a key enabler of, and integral to, the Trusts’ strategies and business plans.
Work with partners to secure the benefits of IT investment through effective implementation programmes based on
evidence of best practice.
Ensure the adoption of all mandated knowledge, information and data standards.
Improve the delivery of patient care through the implementation of effective ICT strategies.
Ensure that the Trusts have sound information governance arrangements in place
