This position is located in the Non-Destructive Inspection Laboratory of an Air National Guard Aircraft Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Fabrication Flight. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.

This position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group. The purpose of this position is to supervise, establish and direct a planned, systematic approach of a quality assurance program designed to provide the maintenance managers confidence that aircraft, aircraft systems, products or supporting processes conform to technical, safety, work load and customer requirements. The position serves as the Supervisor of the Quality Assurance Division. In that capacity, the supervisor plans, implements, and executes a quality assurance program that includes independent surveillance and evaluations of all assigned aircraft, aircraft components, and maintenance personnel. Plans, directs, organizes, and exercises control over Quality Assurance Specialists (non-supervisory employees) assigned utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft to include electronic equipment and systems, manual and automatic flight controls, airframe, landing gear, pneudraulics, and jet engine propulsion, armament, munitions, and associated systems. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, management techniques, peer mediation, root cause analysis, trending, and statistical methods. As the QC Manager you will be overseeing the quality department as it undergoes systems updates and drive to ever greater compliance and continuous improvement while supporting a growing NPD division.

The Role:

As the QC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Control department and leading laboratory operations to ensure the timely & accurate testing of Raw materials and finished products, as well as supporting other departments such as NPD through stability & Microbiological testing.
You will have 4 direct supervisors, leading departments with a total of over 50 heads within QC.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing QC / stability testing of finished products, raw materials and packaging materials etc. to meet the needs of the business, whilst ensuring all methods, procedure and specifications are fit for purpose and comply with all necessary GMP / regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining and continuously developing standards within the laboratories and Quality Management System.
• Develop and maintain the laboratory systems to ensure efficient, safe and compliant operation, perform document reviews and approvals.
• Leads and guide others in quality driven initiatives in the continuous support of Quality Improvement.
• Play an active part in audits ensuring that high standards are maintained.
• Lead the development of Long-term capabilities for the Quality Control department.
• Management of QC Function team staff, ensuring training & development of staff and maintaining headcount in line with budget.

The Person:

• A Degree or similar qualification in a relevant science discipline.
• Proven experience in a QC leadership role within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Excellent knowledge relating to MHRA requirements, audits and the international pharmaceutical industry requirements.
• Experience of Change management & transformation.
• Ability to lead, coach, influence and build strong collaborative relationships.
• Well organized, with an analytical & detail orientated mindset.

• Coordinate with other Federal agencies (e.g., the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on such matters as animal health restrictions and refused entry lots.

In this role the successful candidate will contribute to the Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services Quality and EHS Department by maintaining a robust quality and EHS system that complies with EASA Part 145, FAA CFR, and other relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 9110, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, while ensuring adherence to all Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT) requirements.

Role Responsibilities will include:

• To promote and monitor compliance with LHT and LTLGS regulatory requirements and standards, and implement procedures and practices across the business to meet these standards
• To be Subject Matter Experts (SME) on the regulations and standards for the business for applicable area of expertise.
• To perform internal investigations as to determine root cause failures using LHT system Q/star and develop effective solutions with the action owner.

• Experience of working as part of a Quality Management System -preferably with an ISO91XX background
• Practical Investigation and working experience in Quality & Safety function.
• Or practical experience working within a landing gear facility or similar MRO (3 years minimum)
• Able to analyse for root causes and then create sustainable actions and improve quality
